Last month was our "Keeping itLocal" edition of the PVI Standard.That was our theme because,having been born and raised inValley Center, I love it here andwant to promote and give back toour community. I am very proud towear the banner of a self-proclaimed "Keeping-it-LocalAmbassador" for Valley Center.
Even still, I was surprised by theopportunity to buy Valley CenterHappenings, our local onlinenewspaper, when approached bythe founders and owners, butthrilled when they indicated I was
the natural choice to carry on the banner.

CUSTOMER CORNER
Our Customer Corner for November focuses onthe Valley Center Chamber of Commerce, orjust "the Chamber" as we usually call it.
This has been a big year for theChamber. Here are just a few of theirhighlights, which have benefited members, aswell as our community:
SunRiser attendance is up 30%Sundowner attendance is up 40%They have 28 new membersGave two $1,000 scholarshipsMoved into a new office with a conference roomPurchased tables and chairs for the Block Party/Business ExpoLaunched a new website with an integrated Member Zone
These are just a few of the strides made this year under the leadership ofChamber President, Moira Neibert, and Chamber Executive Director,Mary Gordon. Of course, they also have outstanding Board Memberswho have contributed to the success of the organization.
One of the most exciting accomplishments this year is the launching ofthe new website with the integrated Member Zone. This will allowmembers to update their information, chat with other members, pay theirdues, register for an event and even create their own event. This newbenefit definitely will be a time-saver for everyone involved! To check-outthe new website, please click here.
Although the calendar year is almost over, the Chamber still has onevery important activity to complete, and that is the selection of the 2016Male and Female Citizens of the Year. If you have someone you wouldlike to nominate, please send your nominations [email protected] by November 30th. The winners, as well as the2016 Business of the Year, will be presented at the 2017 Installation andAwards Dinner on January 28th at Harrah's Resort SoCal.
The Chamber would like to thank everyone who has contributed tomaking this one of the best year's ever and they are looking forward toadding even more member benefits in 2017!
