    DECORATING FOR THE HOLIDAYS

    Pat Gavros

    As the holidays approach

we know its time to change our

    home by adding some holiday

accents. There are so many ways to

do so that only money and time can

limit you! I think one of the

mistakes we tend to make is to

work without a theme. When we

take an idea and then work within

those guidelines it makes for a

    more cohesive, or put-together

    look.

    What does that mean?

Well, lets say you have young

    children in the home. Youll

    probably want to do something

more fun, a little more colorful and

that has elements that are more

    appealing to children. That might

be the basic theme of fresh

    greenery, candy canes, toy trains,

    colorful blocks, stuffed animals tied

with red bows, etc. You might use

all of some of those elements in

each room. On the fireplace, you

    would place fresh greenery (or

    artificial). Then add a small,

    inexpensive, train mixed in with

that. Finally, you could insert some

    candles or candy canes. Remember

to vary heights in order to be more

    pleasing to the eye.

    You might have some

accent pillows in the room. You can

simply tie large bows around them,

or if you like, you can cover them

with a no sew cover by taking a

square of fun fabric, folding it to

the back like a package and then

securing it with a safety pin. Then

tie a big bow around it.

In the Dining Room, put a

tablecloth or runner down, then lay

your greenery down on top of that.

Once again, add a small train, or

    little boxes youve covered with

    wrapping paper, put some candles

    throughout the arrangement being

sure to continue the same color

scheme as on the fireplace, etc.

    Picking the theme such as

    country, traditional, elegant,

modern, etc., and then picking a

color scheme such as gold accents

or silver helps unify everything. If

you have a home with large older

    evergreens, you have a ready

    source of Christmas decorating

    materials. When my son was

younger, we lived in a home that

had a yard filled with several types

    of evergreens. Each holiday season

I availed myself of that plentiful

    resource and used that beautiful

    greenery to decorate fireplaces,

    Christmas table and flowers vases.

Then, each year I decided whether I

was going to use green, silver, gold

or red as my theme color.

    Each year, for several

years, my holiday table was set

with various collections I had. One

year I did greenery all over the

    table and added my beautiful

    collection of unicorns that were

white, crystal, brass, etc. After I

added those, I tucked in some small

silver or gold ornaments to finish it

off. And, of course, I always added

  • 8/3/2019 Happy Thanksgiving Edition

    5/19

lots of candles for sparkle during

    dinner.

    One year, when my son

was small and into bears, we did an

    old fashioned theme with greenery,

    small stuffed bears, little gingham

bows, red bulbs throughout and red

candles in clear glass holders. All of

    these things were very inexpensive

to do and had tons of impact. Then

in the Living Room, I added big

baskets of greenery next to the

fireplace, tucked in a little bear with

his cute gingham bow and attached

a few red bulbs here and there.

Thats what Im talking about with a

    theme and having a complimentary

    idea throughout the house.

    Moving to the kitchen,

you can use a vase or a nice high-

sided bowl, or a crock and add

    some greenery. Gather some small,

fallen branches from the yard, use a

    little spray adhesive (any store

carrying art supplies - like Michaels

would have it), and then sprinkle

with some glitter to add a little

sparkle. Or, you can get a little can

of paint and spray the branches

    whatever color suits your fancy.

    Rather than going out to

buy a lot of things. Open up your

    cupboards, cabinets, places you

seem to store things you rarely use.

Do you have home accessories that

have long since been tucked away?

Pull out some of these things and

see what can be used to hold

    greenery, branches, bunches of

    bulbs, piles of lemons, limes,

    apples, nuts, oranges, etc. Look

through all of your candles. Do you

have a lot of one or two particular

    colors that would work well

    together? If you dont have

    candleholders, think about what

you can set them on (saucers,

    plates, glass bowls, cups).

    How about cranberries?

I love that rich red color. You can

take some clear vases, or jars, etc.

    and fill them with cranberries.

Then tuck in some greenery around

them and you have some beautiful

    eye-catching arrangements.

    Pinecones? These are so

fun and piling them in a basket or

bowl with some cinnamon sticks is

a great look. Want to glitterize

them? Just use a little spray

adhesive, or brush the edges with

glue and then dust with glitter. You

could also mix in oranges studded

with whole cloves or limes for a

    pretty look.

    Dont forget your door! If

you dont want to put a wreath,

you can tie some evergreen boughs

together and secure with wire or a

cable tie, and then cover that with

a bow to conceal it. Voila! You

have a great door spray. Add

anything you want to it or just leave

    it green and beautiful.

    Remember, only your

imagination can limit you. So many

of these items are truly inexpensive

and can create a home filled with

beauty and cheer for the holidays.

    Happy Decorating!

    Next week - them trees.

Lots of ideas and how tos.

    Decidedly Different Film-Going

    with a Twistin established Naperville/Aurora

    Theater!By Phil Blacklaw

One can concede that popcornand candy in a cinema can be quiteblas after a while. Especially whenan alternative exists with a

restaurants breadth of food topartake of, or to relax in a theaterwith martini in hand.

    This singular treatand the treat

of seeing luminary actors fromacross the decadesis fostered byHollywood PalmsCinema. Featuring regularcelebrities introducing theirrespective films....Tipi Hedrenfor The Birds, Rita Moreno for WestSide Storymay seem to be a filmenthusiasts dream incarnate. Assuch, publicity manager AngeliqueBarthels assertion that its theultimate movie-going experiencedoes not seem like hyperbole.

When walking into the theatersatrium, its departure from traditional

cinemas is stark. Faux ruins stretchto the ceiling, with palm trees, otherexotic foliage, two waterfalls and ahuge miscellany of vintage postersdating back to the silent era. Fromthe outset, you know (to quote filmcanon) that you certainly are not inKansas anymore.

Although the Palms opened in09, a sister location in Woodridgepreceded it in 2003 (named theHollywood Boulevard Cinema Bar& Eatery). Barthel says boththeaters feature seat service from a

full bar & menu, comfortable chairs, first run movies, classic moviesseries and the chance to meet yourfavorite celebrities.

The celebrities appear at thePalms about once a month. Theirupcoming guests show how broadthe theaters range is, from two ofthe original Munchkinsintroducing The Wizard of Oz to the

    stars of thenewest Twilightinstallment.

In addition to film culture,Hollywood Palms is also ferventlyinvolved with communityservice. When asked, Bartheldiscussed their latest food pantry

event Haunts Against Hunger, dubbing it a huge success, collecting over 100lbs of food! Shealso heads the theaters quarterlyblood drive with Life source.

Another blend of entertainmentand charity was held last September, the three-day Back to the BigScreen Festival, themed aroundfun 70s and 80s films. This eventfunded the Michael J FoxParkinsons foundation, raising over$42,000.

With all the theater has to offer,Hollywood Palms is most definitely

a breath of fresh air. Given theirpast variety in events, the theaterwill surely continue to surprise anddelight filmgoers of all stripes.

    Buy Locally, Buy American

    for the Holidays with Mark

    Garrity

Here we are on the cusp of the

holidays three long years into the

    Great Recession. The Super

Committee wasn't able to come to

an agreement on how to cut the

deficit by $1.2 trillion dollars over

ten years which shouldn't come as a

    surprise to anyone paying attention

to politics for the last year. Sadly

    the Republican members of the

    Super Committee seem to have

    misunderstood their purpose was to

    help lower deficits not explode

them. What else explains their offer

to close $250 billion worth of tax

loopholes in trade for a permanent

extension of the Bush tax cuts

which would add $4 trillion dollars

to the debt over ten years?

Regardless of who you think is

responsible for the lack of a deal, or

    even whether focusing on debt

reduction in the face of a financial

crisis is a good idea in the first

    place, the American economy is

stuck for the time being with $600

billion dollars worth of Dept ofDefense spending cuts and a 2%

    across the board reimbursement cuts

to Medicare providers over the next

ten years. I say "for the time being"

    because already some Republican

senators are trying to quash those

DOD cuts and in reality no congress

can bind the hands of future

    congresses. The house and senate

can simply vote to change the

    policies at some future date.

Nonetheless this impasse poses animmediate problem for the

    American economy. Already

    skittish markets and companies that

would likely hire going into an

    election year confident that

    politicians of both parties interested

in their own re-elections will do

what they can to stimulate the

    economy now recognize that the

    likelihood of GOP cooperation isn't

going to be forthcoming. By the end

    of the year unemployment

extensions and payroll tax cuts are

set to expire which will take $900

billion dollars out of the economy

and the pockets of American middle

    class consumers. Maybe I'm too

pessimistic but I don't see the

    Republican party agreeing to extend

    those unemployment benefits and

middle class tax cuts in the next few

    weeks and their support for

    anything else that might spur

    growth is nonexistent. With the

    Federal Reserve announcing another

round of stress tests for big

    American banks exposed to what

might be a break up of the Euro

Zone next year that just might result

in a depression in Europe things

look pretty bleak for our economy

    as well.

Which brings to me to subject at

hand. What can we as individuals

do about it? It's obvious until after

    next year's election there's not a

whole lot we can do politically and

as President Obama says we can't

    afford to wait.

So I propose that we as American

    consumers, the single biggest

engine of economic growth in this

country accounting for 70% ofAmerica's GDP, do our patriotic

    duty and buy American made

products for the holidays and when

we can buy them from locally

owned stores. Instead of driving to

Walmart or some other big box

store to buy the latest toys, clothes

    and electronics built in overheated

China or some other foreign country

    seek out local shops selling

    American made goods. Recycling

our shopping dollars back into our

    economy is the most important

thing we can do to help create

growth and jobs in this country.

Nobody else can or will do it for us.

Not easy you say? Well I've done

some of the research myself and if

you follow along here are some tips

    I cribbed from the internet:

Who says a gift needs to fit in a

    shirt box, wrapped in Chinese

    produced wrapping paper?

    Everyone -- yes EVERYONE gets

their hair cut. How about gift

    certificates from your local

    American hair salon or barber?

    Gym membership? It's appropriate

for all ages who are thinking about

some health improvement. Whatabout the staff at your local spa?

Almost any woman would love a

    gift certificate in whatever

denomination you can afford to her

    favorite spa.

    Who wouldn't appreciate getting

  • 8/3/2019 Happy Thanksgiving Edition

    8/19

    their car detailed? Small, American

owned detail shops and car washes

would love to sell you a gift

certificate or a book of gift

certificates. One year I bought my

sister a bunch of cleaning suppliesfor her new car and she was thrilled.

With 3 little kids at the time you can

imagine why. All it took was a trip

to local auto supply store and most

of those goods are made here at

    home. .

Are you one of those extravagant

    givers who think nothing of

plunking down your bucks on a

    foreign made flat-screen? Perhaps

    that grateful gift recipient would

like his driveway shoveled for the

winter, or lawn mowed for the

summer, or a few rounds of golf to

look forward to at a local course

next summer. You can look up

locals to contract to do the work

    online.

    There are a bazillion owner-run

    restaurants -- all offering gift

    certificates. And, if your intended

isn't the fancy eatery sort, what

about a half dozen breakfasts at the

    local breakfast joint. Remember,

this isn't about big National chains -

    - this is about supporting your home

    town Americans with their financial

lives on the line to keep their doors

    open.

How many people couldn't use an

oil change for their car, truck or

motorcycle, done at a shop run by

    the American working guy?

Thinking about a heartfelt gift for

    mom? Mom would LOVE the

services of a local cleaning lady for

    a day.

My computer could use a tune-up,

and I KNOW I can find some young

guy who is struggling to get hisrepair business up and running.

If you are looking for something

more personal how about the local

crafts people who spin their own

wool and knit them into scarves.

They make jewelry, and pottery and

    beautiful wooden boxes. Here's a

link to a Facebook page of local

    homebased businesses in the far

    Western burbs.

    www.facebook.com/groups/homeba

    sedselfemployed/

Plan your holiday outings at local,

    owner operated restaurants and

leave your server a nice tip. Or go

out to see a play or ballet at your

    hometown theater. Musicians need

love too, so find a venue

    showcasing local bands.

Honestly, do you REALLY need to

    buy another ten thousand Chinese

lights for the house? When you buy

a five dollar string of lights, about

fifty cents stays in the community.

If you have those kinds of bucks to

burn, leave the mailman, trash guy

or babysitter a nice BIG tip.

The holidays don't have to be about

draining our pockets to buy just

stuff, we can spend it on things

    everybody needs or experiences to

be enjoyed. Of course kids are

going to want toys they see on tv,

there's no getting around some of

that but below are some links to

interesting sites that may not be

local but do sell American made

goods, a lot of which are toys.

These days the holidays should be

about caring for our fellow citizens, encouraging American small

    businessmen and women to keep

    plugging away to follow their

dreams. So be creative mix and

match, buy what can locally, buy

what you can made here in

    America.

    When we care about other

    Americans, we care about our

    communities, and the benefits come

back to us in ways we couldn't

    imagine.

    From Oswego to Springfield,

    Illinois Institutes Day for Diabetes

    Awareness

    By Nadia R. Kanhai

What disease kills more people per

year that breast cancer and AIDS

combined? Every 17 seconds, someone is diagnosed with

    diabetes.

    Diabetes Awareness Day is

observed all over the world, but

    this month, the awareness

    campaign grows roots in Oswego

    and all of Illinois.

    November 14, 2011, Illinois

    celebrated its first official Diabetes

Awareness Day, with a ceremony at

    Oswego Public Library, featuring

Reps. Tom Cross (R), Pam Roth (R),

and Linda Chapa LaVia (D), as well

    as local officials, the American

    Diabetes Association, and local

    residents, including Martin Flowers.

From this year forward, Illinois will

    observe Diabetes Awareness Day

on Nov. 14, thanks to House

    Resolution 557.

Diabetes is a disease that affects

nearly 10 percent of the residents

of Illinois, said Cross. It not only

    affects those residents, but also

    their family and friends. Creating

    more awareness about this

important issue will help othersbetter recognize the signs of

    diabetes and hopefully lead to

    better treatment options.

The toll of diabetes is heavy to

    Illinois families and residents

    physically, emotionally, and

    financially. The ADA estimated

    Illinois direct healthcare cost from

diabetes is $7.3 billion per year.

    Montgomery resident Martin

Flowers helped push HR 557 to its

    unanimous adoption in the Illinois

    House of Representatives.

    Policy and change are very

    important to me, said Flowers,

echoing the Awareness + Action =

    Prevention theme, espoused by

    the Defeat Diabetes Foundation.

    (Diabetes) discussion, education,

and policyWe put them on the

table. This is a step in the right

direction to help make this a more

    manageable disease.

    Flowers anticipates that over the

years, in observation of this day,

    local hospitals can partner with

    public libraries to sponsor

    educational events. Illinois has

    also formed a Diabetes

    Legislative Caucus and is

    working with the University of

    Chicago Medical Center, as

    Illinois has more than 825,000

    citizens diagnosed with

    diabetes, and another half

million who do not know they

    have the disease. Each year,

    more than 2,500 Illinois

    residents die from diabetes-related symptoms.

    The importance of diabetes

    awareness can have a profound

impact if we can reach just a

few people to get them on track

    to a proper diagnosis, added

    Chapa LaVia. A proper

    diagnosis can lead to

    appropriate treatments that

    could not only improve our

    residents livesit may even

    save a life.

    Side Bar with Craig

    Cunngham Attorney At Law

Child custody- the termconjures the clarion call ofwar. The custody battlecreates the metaphor of familyvs. family in a bitter fight todetermine who will cause themost hurt from oneanother. Child Custodylitigation brings issues to theforefront within the familydynamic that constitute thepain, the emotion, and the gutwrenching entanglement that

permeates the depths of theinner soul. Child custodylitigation is not for the faint atheart. I am a practicingattorney in the child custodylitigation realm. ChildCustody litigation requiresthat attorneys exemplifyendurance, compassion, andan indepth understanding ofhuman nature. Many factors go into thedecision whether to beginchild custodylitigation. Illinois law provides

for different variations ofcustody. Illinois provides forjoint custody, but within jointcustody, there is theseparation of the residentialparent and the non residentialparent. This means thatsomeone will be designatedas the residential parent, andthat is the place that the childwill spend most of hertime. The non residentialparent typically pays childsupport to the non residentialparent. However, bothparents may have jointcustody at law. Joint custodyprovides that the parents mustagree and consult one anotherin the three areas at law; (a)health and access to healthcare; (b) religion anddecisions related to religiouseducation, and (c) education, which covers where the child

will attend school, and accessto the childs records. Oneof the primary issues relatedto child custody litigation iswhether to petition the Courtto appoint a Guardian AdLitem (GAL). The GAL brings

many factors into thelitigation, but allows for theopportunity of a third party toindependently review thespecific homes, and to helpmake the appropriaterecommendation before theJudge, as to theappropriateness of whichhome shall have custody ofthe child.Often litigants overlook thebenefits and thedisadvantages relatedspecifically to the conciliation

and mediation aspectsof Illinois law. The legislaturecodified the mediation statuteat 750 ILCS 5/404,which states in pertinent part,

    (a) If the courtconcludes that there is aprospect of reconciliation, the court, at the requestof either party, or on itsown motion, may order aconciliation conference.

    The conciliationconference and

counseling shall takeplace at the establishedcourt conciliation serviceof that judicial district or

at any similar service orfacility where no courtconciliation service hasbeen established.

    (b) The facts adduced atany conciliationconference resulting froma referral hereunder, shall not be considered in

the adjudication of apending or subsequentaction, nor shall anyreport resulting fromsuch conference becomepart of the record of thecase unless the partieshave stipulated in writingto the contrary. (WestPublishing, 2011).

    The Court orderedconciliation, though, is

very different and not tobe confused with theMandatory form ofMediation established

through Illinois SupremeCourt 905. However, the750 ILCS 5/404 rule does

provide for theopportunity for theparties to enter into aless expensive form ofcustody litigation inwhich they mightanticipate a third party toassist them to aconciliatory conclusion totheir pendingissues. The 750 ILCS

5/404 provision allowsfor domestic relationsto be a more civil andamicable frame ofcollaborative divorceprocedures that manyhave requested withinthe specific systemof Illinois. The Court can provideassistance to litigants inmaking the child supportlitigation a less painfulprocess, but the litigants

have to want it. In theexperience of this specificfamily law trial attorney, the litigants does notwant this to be a lesspainful process, butinstead want thelitigation to be mostpainful, medieval ,tortuous form of revengethey can conjure. Oftenlitigants requirevengeance against theother party rather than

the resolution of theissues that brought theparties to the courtroomin the first place.Litigants murder thecivility that shouldsaturate civillitigation. I am

encouraging a dialoguewith others in the child

custody and familylitigation community. Ispecifically want to knowhow many people have

experienced the lack ofcivility within the civillitigation context, and I

would like to know moreabout peoplesexperience within themediation context that

Illinois Supreme CourtRule 905, and theSupreme Court Rule 900Series dictates.

Illlinois Supreme CourtRule 905 states inpertinent part,

    (a) Each judicial circuit

shall establish a programto provide mediation for

cases involving thecustody of a child orvisitation issues (whetheror not the parties havebeen married). Inaddition to the minimumrequirements set forth insubparagraph (b)(2) ofRule 99, local circuitcourt rules for mediationin child custody andvisitation cases shall

address: (i) mandatorytraining for mediators;(ii) limitation of themediation program tochild custody andvisitation issues; (iii)(unless otherwiseprovided for in this

article) standards todetermine which childcustody and visitationissues should be referredto mediation and the timefor referral, and (iv)

excuse from referral tomediation if the courtdetermines animpediment to mediationexists. The immunity andapproval requirements ofsubparagraph (b)(1) ofRule 99 shall apply tomediation programs forchild custody and

    visitation matters. (WestPublishing, 2011).

Therefore, the mediationprogram works towardslitigants solving theirquestions. Litigants must

be aware of the benefitsof the program. Thelitigants must realize this

is the point at which theyshould address allquestions, all issuesrelated to the problemsof both parties parentingtheir children. Thelitigants must embracethe task of performingthe resolution towards aparentingagreement. The

mediation rules providefor the resolution of theparenting agreement, butlitigants prevent thisresolution. The nextseries in this article shallprovide litigants withtools on reaching thisresolution, and providingfor more successful andefficient litigation.

    Home For the holidays

    with the Vets by Glen

    Busch

    Yorkville, IL: Students

at Bristol Bay Elementaryschool made a phone call

    yesterday, but not like

    most phone calls. The

    students were given an

    opportunity to speak with

    MSG CJ Grisham who is

    currently stationed in

    Afghanistan via Skype.

    The Skype call was part

    of a larger school

    project which included

    sending care packages and

    letters to the soldiers

    of the 504th BfSB last

    month.

    The students, ages 6-12

    were able to ask MSG

    Grisham about Army life,

    like food, work schedule

    and what Afghanistan was

    like. MSG Grisham told

    the students how he

    missed TV commercials for

Pizza Hut and his home in

    Texas. When a student

    asked the 17 year veteran

    what his favorite food

    was, MSG Grisham replied

    Tacos!; which brought

    the students to roaring

    laughter. While some

    questions focused on

    combat and the war,

    overwhelmingly most

    students were more

    interested in the

    soldiers sleeping in

    transport containers,

    their friends and

    families, and many of

    them not being able to

    shower for weeks at a

    time.

    MSG Grisham showed the

    students some of their

    letters hanging on the

    wall behind him as well

    as an Afghan headdress he

    received while over

    there. He thanked them

    all and their teachers

    for the care packages on

    behalf of the other

    soldiers as well. These

    soldiers were located in

    a remote portion of the

    country and had no

    ability or opportunity to

    communicate with the

    kids. He told them how

    difficult it was at times

    to find snacks, drink

    mixes, toothpaste and the

    like some 10,000 miles

    from home and how much

    their gifts meant to the

    soldiers who were also

    missing their homes and

    families.

    The students were very

    happy they had the

    opportunity to write to

    the soldiers. It means

    that we love them said

    one 1st grader who took

    part in the project.

    They are protecting us

    and we told them thank

you. The 504th is in the

    middle of their

    deployment to the Afghan

    region and their return

    date back home has not

    been released.

    When the holiday season

    comes upon us, friends and

    loved ones choose to bestow

    one another with lifes

    greatest gift time. In a

    world filled with excess,

    it remains Earths most

    precious resource. And to

    no other population of

    American society is that

    more apparent than the U.S.

    military. Each and every

    single Airman, Sailor,

    Solider, and Marine

    understands the sacrifice

    necessary in order to serve

    ones country and what

    they often sacrifice most

    is time spent with their

    loved ones.

So for every Private in the

    Army, a worried mother

    waits for a phone call

    stateside. For every Petty

    Officer in the Navy,

    younger brothers gloat

    about how many push-ups

    their sisters can do. For

    every Sergeant in the Air

Force, a new wife calls her

    husband to inform him about

    the birth of his newborn

    child. And for every

    Corporal in the Marine

    Corps, a father tells his

    co-workers about how his

    daughter serves her country

    with duty, honor, and

    respect. And as a result,

    military families often

    understand the level of

    sacrifice necessary in

    order to serve ones

    country and what they

    often sacrifice most

    is time spent with their

    loved ones.

    So as we welcome this

    years holiday season

whither you are a member of

    a military family or not

    remember that this time of

    year is a gentle reminder

to all of us of what

matters most: time spentwith our loved ones.

    So remember to enjoy the

    holidays with some you love

    and never forget: Freedom

    This Months Tip

Your brand is much more thanjust a logo (but a good onecan enhance your brand). Abrand is the essence of yourproduct or service and what it

means to your customers.Your brand is attitude, perception, and how peopledifferentiate you from yourcompetition. Here are sometips on better defining yourbrand

    1. Every brand has a

    story that makes it

    different from its

    competition. In the

    case of a pooper

    scooper its all the

    same crap being

    professional is a

    must. I have had

    made me doubt

    their ability to

    serve our

    needs. The one

    with the most

    personality and fun

    attitude ultimately

    won our business!

    2. Depending on your

    business Your

    personal and

    business brand are

    the same thing

    but that does not

    mean that you

market both thesame or equally! In

    my case, my

    business brand is

    marketing, and

    social media. My

    personal brand is

    activism, music,

    and

    creative. Although

    they work hand in

    3. Dont let your

    competition dictate

    your brand. In the

    case of the pooper

    scoopers. Just

    because they are

    facing national

    competition from

    franchises, that

    does not mean that

    they know your

    House are over. Looking to

compete in 2012 this Club will

    transform it well stocked

    minors and solid core of

    veterans into a lean mean

    fighting machine. Long Term

    the cubs should improve in

    2012 and can compete with

    the likes of the World

    Champion Cardinals. Look no

    further than the saying the

    Buck stops here and Dale

Sveum will be a happy change

    at the Friendly confines of

    Wrigley Field.

    Bears November Run by TimFlowers

In many ways this season theBears have been a tale of twoteams. With an early openingseason win over the Falconsand then a string of losses inwhich this defendingchampion of the NFC Northlooked like the Tampa BayBuccaneers of the late 70s.Missing assignments, poor

attitude and penaltiescontributed to the earlyseason woes; However in thelast few weeks this team hasturned it around withconvincing wins over theFalcons and Eagles this team

has done it through balance ofrunning the ball and passing.Great special teams play and adominating performance bythe defense. November isimportant because the Bearsfind themselves in the playoffhunt and trail the Divisionleading Packers by threegames. With the Chargers thisweek and the Christmas Daygame against the Pack theBears need to continue theirDominate run. On pace tobreak the single season all-

purpose yardage Matt Forte iscontinuing a dominate seasonwith his 100 and plus yardperformance against theLions. Cutler is improvingevery week to be aquarterback ready for a2

    ndchance in the playoffs after

last season championshipgame exit. The old war horseBrian Urlacher is playing likehe is still 26 evens thou he is34 now. The Defense line withPeppers continues to surprisewith the Pass Rush and Devon

Hester has awoken to find hisgroove in the special teamsdepartment. The Chargers areteam capable of challengingthe Bears defense with PhilRivers and the spread offense.Look for the Defense to makea strong stand in San Diegoand Cutler and Knox are readyto hook up for a big timegame. Forte will break 110yards on the ground andBears will win 24-17!

An idea thathad previously never evengraduated from the drawing board, personal trainers Chris Gellings andMike Benso sought to stray heartilyfrom the beaten path in their goal toprovide the most eco-friendly Gymconceivable.

put it, the more you work, the lessyour dues are.

To augment their uniqueness, owners Gellings and Benso also addimpressive credentials and offers totheir programs. Both owners have

Additionally, theyare offering huge discounts up to50% off on personal trainers, andalso feature trainers for children, rather than the run-of-the-mill, morepassive classes prevalent in otherfitness centers.
