Born in Odessa, Texas, Jim Paul Blair spent most of his years growing up in Clayton, Oklahoma. Being the son of former Texas Playboys member Ramona Reed, he was exposed to the music of Bob Wills at an early age. Jim has portrayed Buddy Holly in Muskogee Little Theatre’s production of “The Buddy Holly Story” twice to sold out shows. In addition he has portrayed Hank Williams in Muskogee Little Theatre’s production of “Hankerin’ 4 Hank”, a Hank Williams tribute show numerous times. Now we get to welcome John Paul to Epworth Villa where he will sing songs that everyone will remember from Bob Wills to Buddy Holly and Hank Williams.

Recently Ann S. attended the Early Risers Toastmaster’s meeting. Ann is a Distinguished Toastmaster, who has served as Area Governor, has been a past Toastmaster of the Year, and was a finalist in six district speech contests. Ann spoke on what Independence Day means to her at the meeting. She won the blue ribbon
for best Table Topics speaker.

“SALUTE TO AMERICA” KILGEN ORGAN PERFORMANCE FEATURING DAVE WICKERHAM MONDAY, JULY 15TH LEAVE @ 5:30 PM, CONCERT STARTS AT 7:00 PM
The Oklahoma History Center is proud to present a summer Kilgen Organ performance featuring Dave Wickerham. The program will be Monday, July 15th, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. The theme of Wickerham’s performance will be “Salute to America.” Doors will open at 6:00 p.m., and seating is first come, first served.
We will plan to leave at 5:30 p.m. for the History Center so we can be there when the doors open in order to get good seats. Tickets at $10.00 for museum members and $20.00 for non-members. When you sign up please indicate whether you are a member or non-member. Transportation for this event will be $5.00. WE MUST HAVE AT LEAST 8 PEOPLE TO SIGN UP TO MAKE THIS TRIP. DEADLINE IS FRIDAY, JULY 5TH TO SIGN UP.

OKC Town Hall Lecture 2019-20 Season Ticket for all lectures is only $90. Single lecture tickets are available for $25. Residents attending are responsible for buying their own tickets.
This year OKC Town Hall will be starting at 11:00 am at UMC--Church of the Servant on N. MacArthur Rd. We will leave Epworth Villa at 10:30 am in order to arrive at the church in plenty of time for residents to be seated. We do not stay for lunch. The bus will pick everyone up at 12:00 pm or at the conclusion of the program to return to Epworth. If you would like to stay for the luncheon you MUST provide your own transportation. Transportation for the bus is $4.00 per person and you can sign up in the ‘Count Me In Book’. We must have 6 people going to provide transportation. Please sign up BY Friday, JULY 15th if you will be going.

Let’s go to the Edmond Historical Society and Museum to see their current exhibits entitled, ‘1920’s Edmond: Ain’t We Got Fun?’ and ‘Snap Shots in Time: a 100 Years of Photographs and Cameras in Edmond’.
After we visit the museum we will cross 9th St. to Hideway Pizza for a fun lunch before returning to Epworth.

transportation. Museum is FREE and residents will pay for their own lunch at Hideway.

Here at Epworth Villa, residents have space for all to participate in needle work, crafts and arts of all mediums (oil, acrylics, water, etc.).
Come enjoy the amazing state of creativity on Tuesdays at 2:30 pm in the Art Corner. Residents meet, talk art, have a teaching session and work in the art medium their choice.

QUAIL SPRINGS UMC WOMEN’S GROUP TO COLLECT ITEMS:
At their July meeting on Thursday, July 11th, the ladies from Quail Springs UMC will be collecting donations of underwear, socks, athletic shoes, etc. They will also be collecting monetary donations of any amount for school uniforms.
For every $125.00 donated, Skyline can purchase the following for 1 child: Two new uniform shirts, two new pairs of uniform pants, underwear, socks and a pair of athletic shoes.
If you would like to donate any of the items listed above or money towards uniforms, please stop by the Joe White Living Room on Thursday, July 11th from 9:30 am—11:00 am to drop off your contribution.

The “Flying High” Band from Tinker Air
Force Base is an all-volunteer group that was first formed in 1987. It rapidly became
a popular group and has remained a very active organization on and off base. The
musicians come from all areas: active duty, retired personnel, dependents,
civilians, and friends, all whom share a common interest in performing with their
musical talents. With over 800 tunes in the library, covering patriotic marches and
military protocol to the Big Band sounds of the 20s to the 90s, the band entertains
