Happy & Hydrated What better way to become healthier than doing one of the healthiest activities out there? Drinking more water! There are plenty of health benefits for drinking more H20, for instance its association with weight loss. Drinking water helps you feel fuller, so you aren’t consuming those extra calories! Water also helps clear up your skin by flushing your body of toxins that cause acne! And what’s even cooler, is that drinking water can make you feel more alert and more focused, getting rid of that unproductive afternoon fatigue. With this challenge, Georgia River Network wants you to be thirsty and thrive to drink more water! Challenge yourself to drink at least 2 liters (or 8 glasses) of water a day! Make sure to keep track of how many days you accomplish this goal, and have your friends and family donate $1 for each day you complete the challenge! Why is this Challenge Important? This challenge is especially important because it amplifies how important clean drinking water is to all of us! Did you know that many of Georgia’s rivers supply drinking water for our citizens? For example, the Chattahoochee River supplies 70% of metro Atlanta’s drinking water; that’s more than 300 million gallons per day! Georgia River Network’s Actions to Support Clean Water One of the efforts Georgia River Network is doing to ensure that we have clean water is through our policy director, Chris Manganiello. Chris, along with Georgia Water Coalition, recently helped support the passing Senate Bill 36: Protect Georgia’s Well Water through the Senate. This bill ensures clean groundwater for the public, as well as landowners.
