On Sunday, we will be celebrating the vocation of fatherhood, where we rightly praise all our dads for their work in raising and forming the next generation. Fathers who seek to be good role models, in some way stem from and are measured against the fatherhood of God. As Christians, fatherhood is built on a profound respect for the equal dignity of wife and children. It must be based on gentleness, not coercion; self -giving, not self-gratification; and respecting, never abusing. We see the role of fathers as those who serve their families through work, prayer, devotion and love. They set aside their own desires to care for those who have been entrusted to them. As we shower our fathers with gifts this weekend, let us remember that their only wish is to serve their family as God has intended. God bless our fathers this Sunday and all who share in their paternal care in our world. COMING UP... There are a number of special events that are coming up before the end of term. Please note the following: School Photographs - Our photo day has been set for Thursday 10 th September. Students are expected to wear their full Winter Uniform on this day. Please make sure you return your order with the personalised envelopes that have been provided with today’s Newsletter. We would like to point out that the school is not associated with your order and you need to check and follow all instructions on the form and enclose the correct amount or payment details. Parents can also finalise their payments online before the photo day. I would like to remind all parents that these photos will end up forming part of our school history, and as such we want to ensure that all students are well presented and groomed on the day. Also a kind reminder to all the parents of our Preparatory students, if they can have their child at school, even if that is not their day of attendance. Note: Every student must return their envelope - Even if not purchasing photos. Fundraising for Lebanon - On Friday, 11 th September, we have organised a special fundraising activity to join with the worldwide appeals for urgent contributions to accelerate relief for Lebanese Armenians. Therefore, the proceeds from all the Canteen Sales on the day will go towards the AGBU Humanitarian Relief Fund for Lebanon. We hope you can assist by either placing a morning tea and/or lunch order for the day, or by providing a donation towards the fund. More details will be provided in the order form that will be emailed to parents next week. Gardening Workshop - As part of our Fruit & Veg Month activities, we have organised a Gardening Workshop for Friday, 18 th September, with the support of our professional gardener Mr Vrej Jebian. Sports Carnival - The 2020 Sports Day has been set for Monday, 21 September at Terrey Hills Oval. 4 th September, 2020 MANOUG DEMIRJIAN

Dear Parents,

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

On Sunday, we will be celebrating the vocation of fatherhood, where we rightly praise all our dads for their

work in raising and forming the next generation. Fathers who seek to be good role models, in some way

stem from and are measured against the fatherhood of God. As Christians, fatherhood is built on a profound

respect for the equal dignity of wife and children. It must be based on gentleness, not coercion; self-giving,

not self-gratification; and respecting, never abusing.

We see the role of fathers as those who serve their families through work, prayer, devotion

and love. They set aside their own desires to care for those who have been entrusted to

them. As we shower our fathers with gifts this weekend, let us remember that their only

wish is to serve their family as God has intended.

God bless our fathers this Sunday and all who share in their paternal care in our world.
