Welcome to South Main!
You’re invited to be a part of our family as we worship God, encourage one anoth-
er, and grow spiritually together.
When we meet together, we sing, pray, study the Bible, partake together in the
communion of the Lord's supper, and en-joy great family fellowship.
A fully staffed nursery is available. Ask an usher for assistance.
During AM services, we offer signing for those who are hearing impaired.

David’s Thoughts…
"Point your kids in the right direction - when they're old they won't be lost." - Proverbs 22:6 (The Message)
I visited a life-long educator this week - someone who has spent time both in the classroom helping learners learn and in the resource room helping teachers teach. As our conversation drifted to the educational impact of the fami-ly, we talked about how simply spending time together (such as around the dinner table) teaches children on so many levels. Relaxed and casual, family conversations can stretch children's vocabulary and broaden their conceptual thinking skills. Simply allowing children to ponder about mom's day, as she describes what she did, encourages children to ex-perience a whole new reality and learn from causes and effects. Family discussions teach children how to take turns, how to navigate verbal interactions and how to contribute politely and meaningfully when several people are involved. It also sets the stage for empathy, kindness and concern and allows children to step out of their “me-centered” world and con-sider others. Tom Jones, in his class study of “The Sermon on the Mount,” recently commented that our relationship with God depends on our relationship with others (1 John 4:20). Living with each other in the church and in our world is not always easy. However, it can be easier when we use the family as God intended - as a training ground and classroom for the soul. Best of all, we don't have to have a Ph.D or even a teaching certificate to do it well. We simply have to be imi-tators of Christ. So, spend time with your children, eating and working and worshiping and serving and, well, just living life! For they are like the disciples, hanging on your every word--not always understanding, but slowly catching on. And with the Spirit's help, one day, possibly even after you are gone, they will do great things in the Lord's Kingdom.

Happy Father’s Day
Whatever is good and perfect comes
down to us from God our Father,
who created all the lights in the
heavens.
He never changes or casts a shifting
shadow.
He chose to give birth to us by giving
us his true word.
And we, out of all creation, became
his prized possession.
