We are delighted to offer a personally guided 'behind the

scenes' tour of Kensington Palace for you with Lord

Maurice Fermoy, the 6th Baron Fermoy, who is 1st cousin

to Diana, Princess of Wales.

Maurice will share the historical and current stories of

the royal residents; from William and Mary through the

unhappy childhood of Queen Victoria to the Duke and

Duchess of Cambridge and their family.

He is not only a member of our British aristocracy, his

close family ties to Diana mean that he will share a

wonderfully intimate insight into her life. He will share

his fabulous knowledge of Kensington Palace from the

times of Queen Victoria through to the present day. He is

also excellent company as he is very well travelled and is

a recognised expert on the vagaries of acceptable

etiquette in polite society.

Joining you on your tour of Kensington Palace will be Lord Maurice Fermoy,

6th Baron Fermoy.

Lord Fermoy has extensive connections within British society. Educated at

Eton, Lord Fermoy then passed into the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst

and was commissioned into the Household Cavalry, the Blues and Royals. His

postings included that of a Troop Leader at the Household Cavalry Mounted

Regiment in Knightsbridge, London, carrying out Queen's Life Guard and

State Ceremonial duties, including state visits, the opening of Parliament by

the Queen, the Lord Mayor's Show, the Garter Service at Windsor and the

Queen's Birthday Parade on Horse Guards Parade. He served for seven years,

retiring at the rank of Captain.

Lord Fermoy's grandmother Ruth, Lady Fermoy was a Lady-in-Waiting to

Queen Elizabeth. Subsequently, Lord Fermoy was appointed Page of Honour

to Queen Elizabeth from 1982 to 1984. His father, Edmund, was younger

brother to Frances Shand-Kydd, mother to Lady Diana Spencer, making Lord

Fermoy her first cousin. Lord Fermoy attended her marriage to HRH Prince

Charles, Prince of Wales in 1981. Lord and Lady Fermoy attended the royal

wedding of HRH Prince William to Catherine Middleton in 2011.

Lord Fermoy is sought out for his expertise on British etiquette. He instructs

in English manners, aristocratic traditions and British society. His instruction

style is engaging, relaxed, easy to understand and often embellished with

personal accounts and anecdotes. He tutors for The English Manner, the UK's

leading etiquette, protocol and household management consultancy.

Maurice has suggested that he then takes you to a little-known

daily ceremony at Horse Guards parade: 'The Queen's Lifeguard',

mounted on immaculately groomed horses with breastplates

shining in the sun, present a stirring sight as they ride through

the streets of London to Change the Guard on Horse Guards

Parade.

The 4 'o' Clock Parade started in 1894 when Queen Victoria

found the entire guard drinking and gambling while on duty. As

a punishment, she said they had to be inspected every day at

4pm by an officer for the next 100 years! The 100 years finished

in 1994. However, the reigning Queen wanted the parade to

continue as a tradition.

Enjoy wonderful views of London’s skyline, in your exclusive

cantilevered observation wheel and is a truly unique way to

Learn the skills and gain a fascinating insight into polo, the

magnificent sport of Kings.



We are delighted to offer you the opportunity to learn

the skills and tactics of one of the most exciting

sports at the premier home of polo, the Guards Polo

Club. You will be following in the footsteps of the

finest players in the sport on the high goal polo

pitches, where you can soak up the atmosphere and

master the skills.

During your half day lesson, you will learn stick

management practice on a wooden horse and live

action on a polo pony. You will also be introduced to

the history of Guards Polo Club and enjoy

refreshments on site.

Having demonstrated your skills in the morning, you

are invited to watch the professionals mastering their

sport at one of the polo tournaments through the

season. You can choose your preferred date from the

best events of The Season.

Begin riding, learning to ride 'polo

style’. This session can be tailored

generally everyone will learn how

to canter by the end of the lesson.

Moving onto wooden horses,

practice your polo swing

techniques hitting polo balls from

a stable hitting platform.

Returning to the horses you will

combine riding and hitting the

morning’s learnings into practice

Goodwood Revival is the only major sporting event in the world

to take place entirely in period theme.

It is an unabashed celebration of flat-out, wheel-to-wheel racing,

celebrating the romance and glamour of motorsport as it used to

be. Over the course of an action-packed weekend each

September, the world’s rarest and most valuable racing cars and

bikes battle it out on the track. Legendary drivers and riders

from the golden era of motorsport are cheered on by visitors, all

immaculately dressed in 1940s, 50s and 60s clothing and

The Revival is as much about recreating the fashion and culture

of the post-war years as it is about historic racing cars.

Windsor Great Park is one of the most stunning areas

of parkland with ancient oak forests and wide-open

deer parks, under the distant gaze of the beautiful

English castle. You will be riding with hugely

experienced guides who will happily share the stories

and highlights of the park.

We provide the horses and the riding hats, a huge

choice in beautiful routes through the park and all the

training you need to spend an idyllic two hours taking

in the splendour of the Great Park. There’s no road

riding, just thousands of acres of woodland and

I was inspired to launch Humphreys of Henley by my love of the English

countryside. I was brought up in the Cotswolds and currently live in the

Chilterns. My desire is to share the hidden wonders of these places that are so

often missed by visitors.

Our guests provide our proudest moments, when we see their eyes widen in

amazement at the majesty of a hawk in full flight, or their absolute joy when

they shoot their first clay from the skies.

When we plan your itinerary with you, we identify each detail that will make

the day totally memorable for you. Your passions and interests are at the

heart of the itinerary, and will create fabulous countryside experiences.
