Master Arts Series 2016 / 2017

CeleÁating 200 Years

Church Street United Methodist Church Knoxville, Tennessee

We are excited to announce the 2016–17 Church Street UMC Master Arts Series, a musical celebration of the church’s 200th anniversary. This year, ALL our guest artists have a close connection with Church Street UMC—many are past or present members, singers or staff.

The series will begin with a Service of Choral Evensong involving four of Knoxville’s downtown churches. Evensong will be followed by a festive dessert reception/ birthday party in Parish Hall. The highlight of the series will be the return of

reetings,

Sunday, September 18, at 10:30 a.m.

Parish Hall at 6:15 p.m. Two complimentary meals will be provided for contribu tors of $250 or more. See page 15 for more details. Thank you in advance for your contribution.

And lastly, the whimsical 200th anniversary birth-day cake on the front of this brochure was created by artist Kelsey Roy, now in Boston, who sang with the Parish Adult Choir in 2011. A larger souvenir rendition is available on page 3. Have fun finding the different Church Street architectural features contained in this creative gem.
