Our TravelWest Team are here to help answer these questions and put together a travel pack that meets all your travel needs. Our Travelwest Team are coming to Hanham Hall The Team will try to speak with all residents at events or on the door step to talk through the journeys that need to be made. They offer free, impartial and professional advice and have a range of free travel offers available to help you try new ways of getting around. The range of offers include: Route planning – if you need to make a new journey, or try a different form of travel, our advisors can help. Loan bikes – If you are considering cycling, we can lend you a bike on a short term basis so you can try before you decide to buy (both pedal and electric bikes available - a refundable deposit is required). Cycle training – Adult and children’s cycle training is available to give you the skills and confidence to get back on two wheels. Accompanied Ride – If you’d like to gain more confidence in cycling a route we can accompany you. Dr Bike – If you already have a bike, but it needs some attention to get it running smoothly again, our mechanics can give it a once over. They can also provide help and advice on repairs and cycle maintenance. Bus Tickets – if you haven’t used a bus for a while, we have a range of FREE tickets available so you can give it a go and see how useful it can be. Car Sharing – we can help you find a car sharing buddy. Car Clubs – We have offers available to help you join a local car club such as membership deals and discounted drive time. Motor cycle training – If you want to get around on two wheels we can provide training to help you gain skills and confidence. Bus Buddy Service – If you’re not familiar with your route. A travel adviser can arrange to go with you the first time you make your journey. You’ve moved into an exciting new community that over the next year will see 185 new homes built set within 12 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds with all your new neighbours moved in! As well as the allotments, green houses, play park and kick about area - a crèche, café and offices are due to open right on your door step. The new Community Centre is also at the hub of Hanham Hall. Your travel plan & events Travelwest are working with The Hanham Hall Residents Group and Sovereign to deliver a series of events and supporting measures and materials to help you travel more easily. This leaflet is one of the first steps and we are planning a host of activities and measures to help residents travel more sustainably. Supporting journeys on foot and by bicycle Hanham Hall is a walking and cycling friendly development with direct links to Europe’s most used cycle path. A nature play trail runs through the development. Cycle parking is provided at each home. Car Sharing & Car Clubs • Car sharing involves commuter and other trips, where two or more people share a vehicle rather than drive separately. The TravelWest Car Share Scheme operates in your area and is available for all residents. • If you don’t need a car all the time you could consider joining a car club. Once you’ve registered you can book a car online and just driveaway, and you won’t need to worry about the maintenance or insurance. For further information and car club locations visit www.travelwest.info/drive Parking You will only be able to park in your designated parking space or garage. All one, two and three bedroom homes have one designated parking space, while four and five bedroom homes have two parking spaces. No parking is permitted on the streets as streets are for people in Hanham Hall. There will however be a limited number of short stay parking bays for visitors. Our Travelwest Team are coming to Hanham HallThe Team will try to speak with all residents at events or on the door step to talk through the journeys that need to be made. Lets start with some of the journeys you might be makingWork: • If you work in Bristol or Kingswood, there is a direct bus service from the bus stop right outside Hanham Hall. Buses run every 20 minutes Monday to Friday and every 30 minutes on a Saturday and 60 minutes on a Sunday.

• There are also bus services on Hanham High Street to Longwell Green, Southmead and Bath.

• Keynsham Train station is a 20 minute cycle or 10 minute drive away providing links to Bath, Bristol and beyond.

• Working from home in your designated space for a home office is also a great way to avoid travelling to work at all.

Health:• Your local doctor’s surgery, Hanham surgery is conveniently located only a few hundred metres from your home.

• Dentists and opticians are located within a 10 minute walk / 6 minute cycle ride on Hanham High Street and in other local areas.

• There is also a bus service from Hanham High Street to Southmead Hospital.

Education:• A crèche is planned to open soon at Hanham Hall and there are nearby nursery’s and pre-schools.

• The nearest Primary schools are Samuel Whites Infant School and Hanham Abbotts Junior School (Forming the Hanham Primary Federation) and Christ Church Hanham Church of England Primary School. Hanham Woods Academy is also located nearby.

• All schools are within an easy walking and cycling distance of Hanham Hall and have School Travel Plans in place encouraging walking and cycling to school.

Shopping:• A café is planned to open soon at Hanham Hall.

• Hanham High Street is the nearest retail centre just a ten minute walk and 6 minute cycle ride from your home. There is a post office, dentist, hairdressers, supermarket, banks, beauticians, pubs, cafés, takeaways, a cycle shop and charity shops. There is also a newsagent in the other direction just a short walk away.

• Gallagher Retail Park is full of well known brands such as M&S, Next, Boots, B&Q and high street clothing shops. ASDA Superstore is also located by the retail park. There are frequent bus services from Hanham to the retail park and ASDA.

• Bristol City Centre is only 4 miles away and Bath City Centre 8 miles away. There are bus services and Park and Rides to both major shopping centres close by.

Leisure:• Hanham Library and Hanham Community Centre are also located on Hanham High Street a short distance away.

• Aspects Leisure Park offers a great variety of activities on your doorstep including bowling, cinema, fitness gym and restaurants. Longwell Green Leisure Centre has a swimming pool, gym and a series of activities. Both are a 20 minute walk, 15 minute bus journey or an 8 minute cycle journey. Why not use your free bus tickets for a day out with the family?

• Hanham Hall links directly to Europe’s most used cycle path, providing cycle and pedestrian access to Bristol and Bath via Keynsham and Saltford.

• There are lots of footpaths in the area which make it a great place for walking, or just getting a spot of fresh air. Why not go for a walk at Magmie Bottom, Hanham Woods or Troopers Hill?
