ASP Tactical Handcuffs are American made. They exceed NIJStandard 0307.01. Each is individually pull tested. Aseries of exclusive ASP patents provide major advances inboth the design and construction of wrist restraints. Framegeometry is the result of extensive computer modeling andsimulation analysis. Strength potential has been maximizedthrough use of a hardened, interlocking, unitized core. Thecuff structure is forged from high strength stainless steelon custom built, high speed, progressive dies. Eachrestraint is then overmolded with ordnance grade polymerunder 75 tons of pressure. The stainless Lock Assembly is unitized and replaceable with a welded lock pin.

The ASP Tactical Handcuff was design in the field. Inputcame from officers and instructors in the 80 nations whereASP currently conducts training. As a result, these ASPhandcuff designs incorporate the practical features mostrequested by officers on the street. These stainless steelhandcuff weigh less than standard designs.

The flat contact ASP bow is rapidly applied. Conicalgeometry secures both large and small wrists. Complex“keyhole up” training procedures are no longer necessary.There is a recessed keyway and beveled double lock slot oneach side of each restraint.

The frame geometry, deep set teeth and precision lockwork ofASP cuffs eliminate the need for backloading. Color codingof restraints is now possible. Custom colors are availablefor agencies, divisions or to designate the security threatof subjects. Lock Assemblies are readily replaced.

ASP handcuffs are the safest restraints in the industry.They incorporate Flex Frame Technology, radiused edges, asmooth action, high visibility double lock indicator,beveled double lock slot and one-direction double and singleunlock.

We recommend that all existing handcuffs be replaced withASP Chain, Hinge or Rigid restraints. The TransportDivision should adopt one of the special colored Identifiercuffs. Higher security blue or green Lock Sets should be used with all high threat individuals. Investigators shouldadopt the Airweight aluminum bow restraints.
