Our Mission
The Johns Hopkins Carey Business School supports business knowledge development and education
through our own initiatives, innovations, and collaborative programs across the Johns HopkinsUniversity. We create and share knowledge that shapes business practices while educating businessleaders who will grow economies and societies, and are exemplary citizens.
Introduction
The Johns Hopkins UniversityEstablished in 1876, the Johns HopkinsUniversity was the first American universitydedicated to advanced study and scientificresearch. Today, Johns Hopkins continues as aleader in teaching, research, and communityservice and is the single largest universityrecipient of research and development fundsfrom the federal government. There are 10divisions within the university.
The Johns Hopkins Carey Business School’sfaculty, administrative staff, and many of itsprograms are located in Baltimore. Programs arealso offered at campus locations in Columbiaand Montgomery County, Maryland, and
Washington, D.C. The Krieger School of Artsand Sciences and the G.W.C. Whiting Schoolof Engineering are based on the Homewoodcampus in north Baltimore. The School ofEducation houses its central administration andsome programs in the Homewood Campus’Education Building. Additional campus facilitiesare in Columbia and Montgomery County.The School of Medicine, Bloomberg School ofPublic Health, and School of Nursing occupy acampus in East Baltimore, along with the Johns
Hopkins Hospital, a separate but closely alliedinstitution. The Peabody Institute, one of thenation’s leading professional schools of music,is also located in Baltimore; the Paul H. NitzeSchool of Advanced International Studies is in
Washington, D.C.; and the Applied PhysicsLaboratory is in Laurel, Maryland. Academiccampuses overseas are in Nanjing, China;Bologna, Italy; and Singapore.

Curriculum
Current academic programs include the JohnsHopkins Global MBA (full-time), ExecutiveMBA (for experienced leaders advancing intheir professions), and the Flexible MBA,designed to accommodate the needs of workingprofessionals. Also offered are a wide range ofadditional MBA programs (in collaboration
with other Johns Hopkins schools) in areassuch as government, biotechnology, designleadership, and public health. Specialized Masterof Science degree programs are offered inenterprise risk management, finance, health care
management, information systems, marketing,and real estate and infrastructure. Additionally,a bachelor’s degree completion program inbusiness and a variety of graduate certificateprograms are offered.

Academic AdvisingBy consulting with academic advisers throughouttheir degree or certificate programs, students canease the registration process, ensure conformity
to program curricula and regulations, selectcourse work to best meet career or professionalgoals, and stay on track for timely completion oftheir academic program.
Each student is assigned an academicadviser upon acceptance of admission to anundergraduate or graduate program. Advisingmay be done in person, by phone, or by email.
Students should seek advising:
• New students are expected to seek advising prior to registering for class for the first time.
• To plan courses in their concentration,students should schedule appointments withadvisers prior to registering for advanced-level
graduate coursework.• Undergraduate or graduate students onacademic probation or suspension arerequired to meet with an adviser prior tore-registration.
All students who are absent for more thanone calendar year and who did not obtain anapproved Leave of Absence will be required toapply for readmission through the Office of
Admissions before being permitted to re-enroll.
Academic Progress
Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students at the Carey BusinessSchool must have a minimum 2.00 grade pointaverage to graduate and must maintain at leasta C average (2.00 on a 4.00 scale) to remainin good academic standing. Students receivecredit for courses in which they receive gradeslower than a C; however, students must repeatany required course in which they receive an F(please refer to repeat policy for further details).
Undergraduate students will be placed onacademic probation if their cumulative gradepoint average falls below 2.00. Grades willbe reviewed for academic progress at the endof each semester. Students whose cumulativeGPA falls below 2.00 must meet with theiradvisers to discuss resources such as tutoring or
workshops so that they can raise their GPA to
assure continued progress toward graduation. AProbation Hold will be placed on the studentrecord for any undergraduate student with acumulative GPA below 2.00. Students will beremoved from academic probation when theircumulative grade point average reaches 2.00.
Students on academic probation who do notraise their cumulative grade point average above2.00 by the completion of the following semesterof enrollment may be suspended. After a periodof one semester, academically suspended students
are required to meet with their academic advisersand may then submit a written petition forreinstatement on a probationary basis.
A student will be dismissed when a) it isnot possible for a student to attain the required2.00 GPA within the school’s academic policies,and/or b) when a student fails the samecourse a second time.
Graduate Students
Graduate students at the Carey Business Schoolmust have a minimum 3.00 grade point averageto graduate and must maintain at least a Baverage (3.00 on a 4.00 scale) to remain in goodacademic standing. To be eligible for federal financial aid, federalregulations require that students be acceptedunconditionally into a 15-credit (or more)
degree or certificate program, and maintainan enrollment status of at least half-time eachsemester. Note that provisionally admittedstudents who are taking the prerequisite creditsnecessary for full admission to their programmay be considered for limited federal loanassistance for one or two semesters dependingon the number of prerequisites required. Loansmay not exceed tuition charges for the specificnumber of required credits, registration or coursefees, and a book allowance.
Bachelors Programs
The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)program will enroll its last incoming class in fall2016. After this date, no new students will beinvited to join the BBA program at the JohnsHopkins Carey Business School. As a result,new applicants for fall 2015 and fall 2016 arestrongly encouraged to speak directly with an
Admissions Officer at the Carey Business Schoolto fully understand the potential implications for
the student experience in this program (i.e. lowclass enrollment, etc.) An applicant for admission to a Carey
Business School undergraduate program musthold a high school diploma or an equivalent andhave earned 60 semester hours or 90 quarterhours of transfer-eligible, college-level creditsfrom a regionally accredited institution.
Applicants must submit an application foradmission, the application fee, and all otherrequired supporting documentation (such asletters of recommendation, essay and optionalresume), along with official transcripts from allpost-secondary colleges or universities attended.

Additional application requirements varyby certificate program. Students have three yearsto complete the certificate.
Graduate Degree Requirements
Once admitted to a graduate degree programin the Carey Business School, students mustcomplete all coursework at Johns HopkinsUniversity, except with prior written approvalfrom an adviser. Exceptions are rare, but willbe considered on a case-by-case basis. Graduatestudents enrolled in master’s programs have sixyears to complete their degree. For informationregarding specific degree requirements for eachgraduate program, please refer to the detailedprogram descriptions online.

State-Specific Authorization for
Online Courses
The Johns Hopkins Carey Business School iscurrently not accepting applications to the FlexMBA (online format) from students who reside
in Indiana, Arkansas, Iowa, and Kansas due tostate authorization policies. This list is subject tochange and the online application will includethe most up to date list. Residents in these statesmay apply to Carey Business School programsoffered onsite at any JHU campus location.
Verification of Credentials
Accuracy is expected in all documents providedby all applicants. Applicants must not makeinaccurate statements, fabricated, or materialomissions on their applications, during theinterview nor submit any false materials relatedto or in connection with seeking admission.Violation of this requirement will result inthe application being rejected or withdrawnfrom consideration.
It is, therefore, the policy of the CareyBusiness School to verify all documents andcredentials in support of an application. CareyBusiness School staff and university officialsreserve the right to verify the authenticity of
any information submitted or provided duringthe course of the admission process. Essays andletters of recommendation may be traced back totheir origin in order to establish authenticity.
Documents uploaded into the onlineapplication are verified through Turnitin® for
Admissions turnitinadmissions.com.If a violation is discovered during the
application process an applicant will be withdrawn from admission consideration. Ifa violation is discovered after an applicant hasbeen admitted the offer will be rescinded and thestudent is no longer eligible for enrollment—even if the student has already enrolled and iscurrently making progress in an academic degreeor certificate program. A degree or certificateconferred by the Johns Hopkins Carey BusinessSchool may also be rescinded if admissionto the School was previously offered basedupon falsified or inaccurate information. Theapplication fee is nonrefundable.
Transfer of Undergraduate Credits
A maximum of 60 semester hours (90 quarterhours) will be applied to the undergraduate
degree program in the Carey Business School,including credits by examination. Quarter-hourcourses will be converted to semester hours. Theundergraduate program at the Carey BusinessSchool does not award life experience credits.
Note: Financial aid students in undergraduate programs who borrow student loan funds must beawarded “freshmen-level” loans until their transfercredits have been evaluated and accepted so theirapplicable grade-level for aid eligibility can bedetermined and documented, in accordance with federal law.
Transfer of Graduate Credit or
Waive With Replacement
The maximum number of credits earnedat another regionally accredited college oruniversity that may be transferred withreplacement into a graduate degree program inthe Carey Business School in no case can exceedfour credits or two classes. Any request fortransfer or waiver of courses must be submitted
within the first two semesters from the date ofadmission. Full-time degree programs at theCarey Business School do not allow transfercredits or waivers.
The maximum number of credits earned at
another school within Johns Hopkins Universitythat may be transferred into a graduate degreeprogram in the Carey Business School in no casecan exceed four credits or two classes as longas each course transferred counts toward onetwo-credit course. Dual degree students maynot apply transfer credits from other divisionsof Johns Hopkins towards completion of theirCarey degree. All credits earned towards theCarey portion of a dual degree must be earned inthe Carey Business School.
Students in full-time academic programsat other Johns Hopkins University divisionsmay take classes at the Carey Business Schoolas a graduate level, non-degree seeking student.These interdivisional requests for enrollment willbe processed the week before the semester startsto allow degree-seeking students ample time toregister for classes. Only six credits earned asa non-degree student may be counted towardan MBA, MS or Graduate Certificate from theCarey Business School.

Admission Policy
Demonstration of English LanguageProficiency by Non-native-speaking
Applicants As one measure of potential for academic success while a student in the Carey Business School,international applicants must demonstrateproficiency in both written and spoken English.
To demonstrate proficiency, applicants toboth undergraduate and graduate programsmust submit either official TOEFL (Testof English as a Foreign Language) scores orofficial IELTS (International English LanguageTesting System) scores if the undergraduatedegree has not been earned from an accreditedinstitution in the U.S. (or Canada). Johns Hopkins Carey Business School is 0834.The preferred IELTS score is 7.0. Applicants tocertain graduate programs may also be requiredto provide additional evidence of Englishproficiency, including:
• A telephone, Skype, or in-person interview with an admission committee member
• A writing sample certified to be theapplicant’s own work
• A writing examination administered by theCarey Business School
• Additional workshop(s) or course(s) in written or spoken English upon enrollment inthe Carey Business School
The admissions committee will determineand request the additional evidence of Englishproficiency required for admission to the given
graduate program. The committee may granta waiver from the English proficiency examrequirement if the applicant has demonstratedby other means sufficient proficiency in spokenand written English for success in the programand in the profession (e.g., the non-native-English-speaking applicant has earned a degreefrom a college or university where English is thelanguage of instruction). An applicant may filean English Language Proficiency Exam WaiverRequest when submitting his/her applicationto the Office of Admissions. The form can be
found online at carey.jhu.edu/admissions/international-applicants. Students who do notmeet the preferred minimum, but are admitted
to the school will be required to take ESL classesuntil proficiency is met.
F-1 Visa Applicants
An international applicant requiring a student(F-1) visa to attend school must obtain
admission to a degree program well in advanceof the start of the semester. The Carey BusinessSchool does not issue certificates of eligibility(Form I-20) for provisional acceptance to adegree program, nor does it issue an I-20 forany certificate programs. I-20s are issued,however, for conditional admissions. Theapplication and other required admissiondeadlines for international students who requirea student (F-1) visa and who plan to attendthe Carey Business School are April 1st for the
fall semester and October 15th for the springsemester. If applications and other requireddocuments are not received on or before thesedeadlines, the application will be consideredat the start of the next semester. For programapplication deadline dates, visit carey.jhu.edu/admissions/deadlines.
After receipt of the acceptance letter fromthe Carey Business School and payment of theenrollment fee, international students who needto obtain an F-1 student visa will be sent anemail from the Office of International Services(OIS) with information on the steps requiredto receive a form I-20 Certificate of Eligibility.This email will be sent to the address listed inthe student’s application in Apply Yourself. Ifthe information is not received, please contactOIS at [email protected]. The I-20 is notautomatically sent with the acceptance letter.
Before an I-20 is issued, the internationalstudent is required to submit financialdocumentation to the OIS via iHopkins, per theinstructions. I-20s will not be issued until the
student has accepted the offer of admission, theenrollment fee has been paid, and all requireddocuments have been uploaded to iHopkins.

Admissions requirements for the

Degree Applications
If it has been longer than one year since astudent was admitted and the student did notenroll at the Carey Business School duringthat time, a new application and all supportingdocuments must be submitted.
Admission to other Schools
of the University
Carey Business School students who wishto transfer to one of the other schools in theuniversity are required to submit an admission
application to that school. Documentationsubmitted to the Carey Business School willnot be forwarded to any other school in theuniversity. Admission to the Carey BusinessSchool establishes no claim or priority foradmission to any other school in the university.
Deferring Admission
Admitted students must accept the offer ofadmission and pay the enrollment depositprior to requesting deferral. Once the offer ofadmission has been accepted and the enrollmentfee has been paid, students must submit a
written deferral request to [email protected] and a deferral request form will besent back to the student. Once the completedform has been received and processed, thedeferral approval will be emailed back to thestudent. The offer of admission is only valid fora maximum of one year. Scholarships are notdeferrable—all scholarship recipients will bereconsidered for a scholarship for the next year.
Conditional Admission
An applicant may be admitted on a conditionalbasis pending the completion of clearlydefined conditions stated in their offer ofadmission letter. These conditions may include:official transcripts with degree conferred,official credential evaluation with degreeconferred, the completion of MBA Math orother requirements.
To successfully complete the condition,
the applicant must fulfill the requiredcondition within the time frame stated in theoffer of admission.
Upon successfully meeting all of theconditions, students are notified by email thatthey are fully admitted to the program to whichthey have applied. Applicants who do notsuccessfully meet all of the specified conditions
within the stated time frame are notified in writing and cannot graduate from the CareyBusiness School.
Note: Applicants who have been conditionallyadmitted are not eligible for financial aid.

In order to maintain the academic integrityof our programs, it is important that any classsession that is missed due to weather, instructorillness or other emergency is made up, and thatany missed material is covered. However, facultymembers have considerable latitude over how theclass sessions will be made up and have severaloptions from which to choose. They may:
• Extend each class period so as to make up thetotal time missed.
• Plan and schedule an Adobe Connect/Blackboard online session.
• Re-schedule the class period to a designatedmake-up day. Designated make-up days
are scheduled at the end of each 8-weekterm or semester.
Whenever a class session is cancelled,each faculty member may choose the mostappropriate make-up alternative for thatparticular class. The faculty member mustnotify the students in the class and the Office of
Education about which option will be used tomake up the class period.
This policy is designed to address thosesituations when a single class day has beencancelled. Weather emergencies or other eventsthat result in multiple-day cancellations will behandled on a case-by-case basis.
Religious Observances
Religious observances are valid reasons forstudents to be excused from class. Wheneverfeasible, students should be allowed to make upacademic assignments that are missed due tosuch absences. However, the student must notifythe instructor in writing of the projected absenceprior to the second class session of the course.Students who expect to miss several classes
because of religious observances are encouragedto meet with their academic advisers to consideralternative courses prior to registration.
Examinations
A student who needs to miss an examinationmust notify the instructor in advance. Thefaculty member will decide if and how thestudent will make up the missed examination.

• On the Inbox Rules tab, click ‘New’• Under ‘When the message arrives’ select
‘Apply’ to all messages
• Under ‘Do the following’ select ‘Redirectthe message to’

Classes arecommunicative, interactive and student-driven.There is an emphasis on nuances of expressionand intercultural communications skills to servestudents in their learning and development.
Classes focus on using spoken and writtenEnglish for both business and academicpurposes. Emphasis is on understanding thegenre of the communicative message, focusingon accuracy in vocabulary, expression, grammar,and pronunciation in order to effectivelydeliver clear messages at work and in theacademic environment.
Tuition and Fees
BEX course fees are included in tuition thatfull-time students pay each semester, thus there
is no additional fee. Part-time students will pay aper course fee.

English Speaking and Writing for GraduateBusiness Students I, II, III and IV are available
at our Baltimore and DC campuses.
Undergraduate Classes

Conditional Admission
For students who are admitted to Careyconditionally with an ESL requirement,enrollment in English Language Program coursesis required each term until proficiency is met.
Financial AidThe Carey Business School offers financialsupport that includes federal grants and low-interest loans, state grants and scholarships,and school-based scholarships. In general,consideration for financial aid is restricted
to students who have been fully andunconditionally accepted into a degree orapproved certificate program, enroll half-time ormore each semester, and maintain satisfactoryacademic progress. Students admitted inmidterm will become eligible for aid for thenext semester. Note that provisionally admittedstudents who are taking the prerequisitecredits necessary for unconditional admissionto their program may be considered forlimited federal loan assistance for one ortwo semesters depending on the number of
prerequisites required.The academic year consists of the summer,
fall, and spring semesters. The Fall I and FallII terms together comprise the “fall semester”.Likewise, the Spring I and Spring II termstogether comprise the “spring semester.” Forthe purposes of most financial aid programs,students must maintain at least half-timeenrollment in the semester. Half-time enrollmentfor undergraduate students is at least 6 creditsin a semester. Half-time enrollment for graduate
students is at least 4.5 credits per semester(which is 3 two-credit courses) for the falland spring semester, and at least 3 credits in
the summer term. Students who enroll in the January intercession will have those credits addedto their spring semester credits to determinetheir enrollment status.
Deferment of student loan repayment is
available for students enrolled at least half-timeand in a degree-seeking program. The Officeof the Registrar certifies loan deferment forms.Students who only need one or two courses tograduate and will enroll less than half-time willgo into their grace period as of the date theycease attending at least half-time.
Financial aid is available only for coursesthat are required of the degree program andfor which students will receive credit towardcompletion of their program. Courses takenmerely for personal reasons or simply so a
student can remain enrolled at least half timeare not eligible for federal financial aid. Auditedcourses do not count toward the credits requiredfor financial aid availability.
Students must maintain satisfactoryacademic progress and credit compliance(half-time enrollment in required courses persemester in which aid is received) to continueto be eligible for financial aid. Academicprogress is reviewed after each semester. Pleaserefer to our policy, “Satisfactory Academic

filing date can be assured that their financialaid awards will be ready for the start of classes.Maryland residents who wish to be consideredfor Maryland state scholarships must complete aFAFSA prior to March 1.
Students must demonstrate financialneed as calculated by federal methodologyto be considered eligible for all need-basedaid, including government-subsidized directloans. In addition to other documentation,students selected for verification will also have
to provide signed copies of their most recentfederal tax transcripts and those of parents or
spouses (if applicable), including all schedulesfiled and W-2 forms.
Most financial aid available is in the formof federal student loans. For information onthe types of financial aid available, please referto our website at carey.jhu.edu/admissions/financial-aid/types-of-assistance.For purposes of federal loan eligibility,undergraduates must have earned at least 24credits toward their degree program to qualifyfor a sophomore-level loan, and at least 48credits to qualify for upperclassman loan limits.Only transfer credits accepted for transfertoward the student’s degree can be counted indetermining grade level. New undergraduatestudents applying for financial aid will beawarded a “freshman-level” student loan until
their transfer credits have been evaluated andaccepted toward their degree program, sotheir appropriate “grade-level” for financial aideligibility can be determined.
Financial aid awards disburse to the studentaccount on the first day of the semester forstudents whose financial aid files are completeand awarded. When aid from all sources exceedsthe tuition and fees charged by the School, theStudent Accounts Office will process a refundof any credit balance remaining on the student’s
account. Students whose aid awards exceedthe cost of tuition and fees may request bookvouchers for use at the School’s bookstores three
weeks prior to the start of class. Requests shouldbe in writing and include the estimated cost ofthe books from MBS.
The Carey Business School reserves theright to ask for documentation necessary todetermine aid eligibility.
Documents submitted as part of aidapplications become the property of the CareyBusiness School and cannot be returned.
Applications for federal aid cannot be processedif the relevant tax returns have not been filed inaccordance with IRS code. Federal regulationsrequire that the School report suspected casesof fraud or misrepresentation to the appropriatefederal, state, and local authorities. Gift aid(scholarships and grants) may be taxable to theextent that it exceeds the federally allowablecosts of tuition, fees, and required books andsupplies, or is dedicated to other costs, such asliving expenses. Federal grants may be taxable if,
together with other gift assistance, they exceedthe allowable costs.

Grade Point Average
Both semester and cumulative grade pointaverages are noted on a student’s academicrecord. To calculate grade point average (GPA),multiply the number of credits for each courseby the quality points associated with the grades
received in each course; add up quality points;then add up credits and divide quality pointsby the number of credits. The quality pointsused for all official grades for all Carey BusinessSchool are listed in the following table.

Grade Appeals
Students wishing to appeal a grade must contacttheir academic adviser within two weeks of thegrade having been assigned by the instructor.
The student’s academic adviser will guidethe student through the appeal process. After
consulting with the academic adviser, andreceiving a grade appeal form, students willhave two weeks to file the grade appeal with the
adviser. Appeals must be submitted no later thanfour weeks from the date the grade was assignedby the instructor. To be successful a student mustshow that 1) there was a clerical error; or 2) thatcriteria different from those in the syllabus wereused to award grades; or 3) the instructor usedan arbitrary or inconsistent standard. Examplesof arbitrary standards could include differencesin political or ethical positions of the instructorand student(s). The student must demonstratethat an accommodation was not reached withthe instructor of record, and clearly delineate
which appeal criteria are the basis of the petition.If there is no successful resolution, the
appeal will be forwarded to the Chair of theGrade Appeal Committee (GAC). The GAC
will investigate and make a determination of
the remedy, if warranted. The remedy will becommunicated to the Vice Dean for Education,
who will inform all parties of the decision. A student may appeal the decision of
GAC to the Dean of the Carey BusinessSchool. The Dean has final authority on theappropriate remedy.
Receiving Your Grades

• By Mail: Students who wish to receive anofficial grade report by mail should submita request via email to [email protected]. Phone requests for an official gradereport will not be accepted.

GraduationThe Johns Hopkins University confers degrees
at the end of the summer, fall, and springsemesters. The University Commencementand divisional graduation ceremonies are heldin May. The Carey Business School also holdsa graduation ceremony in August for summergraduates. The May graduation program willinclude the names of those students who appliedto graduate by the deadlines for the 2015–2016academic year.
A student who expects to receive morethan one degree or certificate must complete a
separate graduation application for each degreeand/or certificate. Applicants are required toapply by the deadline and within the sameacademic semester they complete their degreerequirements. The Graduation Application isavailable online using ISIS at isis.jhu.edu/sswf .Students in dual and joint degree/certificateprograms must apply for graduation from bothdegree/certificate programs. Late applications forthe spring semester may need to wait until thefollowing academic year depending on the timethe application is submitted. Students planningto graduate should complete all courseworkbefore the semester ends and should not requestor receive the grade of ‘I’ (Incomplete) duringtheir final term.

Students who have submitted the Application for Graduation receive an automated
application confirmation which is emailed to
their JHU email address. Applicant names areplaced on the tentative graduation list for thesemester in which they anticipate completingtheir degree requirements.
The Carey Business School AcademicBoard meets three times each year to reviewcandidates for graduation. Students completingall requirements at the end of summer sessionare reviewed by the Academic Board in August;those finishing at the end of the fall semester arereviewed in December; and those finishing at the
end of spring semester are reviewed in May.Graduation ceremony information is sentvia JHU email in mid-March for the Mayceremonies. Information is sent in late Junefor the August ceremony. To receive theirdiplomas, students must pay all student accountsin full. Additionally, any outstanding chargesof misconduct and violations of academicintegrity must be settled before a diploma willbe released. Johns Hopkins University diplomasindicate the degree and major (e.g., Masterof Science–Finance) without identifying thestudent’s concentration.
Students who apply on time and completetheir studies in the summer and spring will havethe choice of attending the Carey ceremoniesand receiving their diplomas that day, or havingtheir diplomas mailed. Students who apply ontime and complete their studies in the fall willhave their diplomas mailed. Diplomas will bemailed to the permanent address listed in ISISapproximately 2-3 weeks after the conferral date.Students in certificate programs will receive their
certificates by mail.

Academic Honesty
Violations of Academic Honesty include:
• Lying – Lying includes, but is not limitedto, knowingly communicating an untruthin order to gain an unfair academic oremployment advantage, or neglecting to divulge information when under the
circumstances, a person of integrity would beexpected to disclose the matter.
• Cheating – Cheating refers to any activity that gives a student an unfair academicadvantage. It includes, but is not limited to,using unauthorized materials to completean assignment; copying the work of anotherstudent, or representing another’s work asone’s own work; falsifying one’s identity by having another person take an exam;unauthorized providing of materials orinformation to others during assignmentsor examinations. All communications,
written, oral or otherwise, among studentsduring examinations, are forbidden, as isthe use of notes, books, calculators or other
written material except when approved by the instructor.
• Plagiarism – Plagiarism includes, but isnot limited to, use of ideas, data, directquotations, paraphrasing, or any otherincorporation of the work of others notclearly referenced. Students are required to
submit their own work.• Dual Submission – Dual submission includes
submitting substantially similar work inmore than one class without the approval of the instructors. Submitting work that wasprepared for a previous class requires theapproval of the current instructor. Submitting substantially similar work in concurrentclasses requires approval, in advance, fromeach instructor.

Students are expected in all of their actionsto exhibit personal honesty, integrity andrespect for others. Moreover, as members ofa distinctively academic community, Carey
students must adhere to the norms of a seriousintellectual community.
