The Hampshire Field Club and Archaeological Society was founded in 1885 and for over one hundredyears has been Hampshire's most active association for the study of the county's past and natural his-tory. It has a regularly issued journal. Hampshire Studies (formerly the Proceedings of the Hampshire Field Club and Archaeological Society, and still named as such for the purposes of academic references), that pub-lishes articles on natural history, geology, landscape, archaeology, history, historic buildings andindustrial monuments.

Articles intended for publication should be sent to Bruce Howard. Secretary HFC Editorial Board, c/oCounty Planning Depart., Hampshire County Council, The Castle, Winchester, Hampshire S0238UE. from whom Instructions for Contributors can also be obtained. All articles arerefereed by academic consultants, and are prepared for publication by a team of subject editors, fromwhom advice can also be obtained by prospective authors considering the submission of a paper forpublication.

Between 1885 and 1966, Proceedings were, published in Parts, usually three to a volume; only limited vol-umes are still available. From 1967 to date. Proceedings have been published as a single annual volume;volumes 24-56 are still available.
