Special Events Speak Life Poetry Jam Thursday, March 21 at 6:30 p.m. Local poets from Hammond and other Lake County communities are invited to read their poetry. The audience will vote by filling out ballots with the names of their three favorite performances. Bal-lots are collected at the end of the event;

votes are tallied the next day.

Preserving Hammond: A Scan-A-Thon for Everyone! Saturday, March 23 from 1 – 3:30 p.m. Hammond community members from any background may join HPL's Local History Librarian for an afternoon scan-ning session. You can bring 1-3 of your favorite family heirlooms and have them

professionally scanned. You’ll receive a flash drive with your copies, and have the opportunity to "donate" a digital copy of your photo to HPL's historical online database. Please limit artifacts to photographs, documents, or similar.
