was drawing, paint-ing, making and sewing anything she could before flying the nest to get herself an Illustration degree in Cheltenham.
When the weather turned cold Pigeon flew South to Bristol, where she now resides, always forag-ing for new projects.

It’s a deliberate hot pink summery edition this time round. The aim is to keep the sun shining and for the grins on everyone’s faces to get wider with the anticipation of summer and festival season approaching.
Speaking of festivals, we will be having our annual Open Day next month (a mini festival in it’s self - kinda).
The tentative schedule includes a bicycle powered cinema, a tonne of music, open studios, a bit more music, some eye opening talks and an amazing array of food!
A special mention goes out to In-House who will be putting on another whopper of a shop in our gallery space for the whole month of June.
We love opening our doors to show y’all what’s shaking here at Hamilton House, to showcase the gob smacking array of talented tenants who feverishly work within the depths of the building producing masterful work, and to broadcast how this amazing project has developed since conception (and still is developing).
Our perfectly timed event will be happening on the 14th June in line with the start of the Big Green week so ink it in your diary right now so you don’t forget. There’s no excuse for not coming down to see us because it’s FREE!
So with that said - we’ll see you here!

Some of you may remember the craziness that was the first Invis-ible Banquet back in Autumn 2011. Get excited because Lord
Wasshischops is inviting you townsfolk into his enchanted forest for a little taste of spring this time...
An amazing collaboration between the delectable Eat Drink Bristol Fashion, the incredible Invisible Circus and of course the wonderful us... Brings to you a feast of tomfoolery where you will be served up skyhigh platters of sensational food whilst being whirled into a circus extravaganza and sipping on a delicious concoction of a cocktail.
This will be a fundraiser for the work we do with The Bristol Drugs Project that happens at The Coexist Community Kitchen - we’re pretty excited about it all!
This time round the tantalising, tastebud twirling culinary delights will be cooked up by none other than:
Freddy Bird from Clifton LidoJosh Eggleton from The Pony & Trap
Tim Denny, Matt Duggan & Leigh Pascoe from The Star and DoveToby Gritten from The Pump House
Todd Francis from The Ox Martin Walkins from Walters restaurant at the Bristol
Marriott Royal Hotel.
And the wonderful Mixologist Jim Barlow from The Milk Thistle will be on hand with a cocktail menu full of twists on classic cocktails and unique creations.
The Invisible Banquet ‘A Taste of Spring’ May 3rd...

bike strip sundays
Alternate sundays from 5pm to 7.30 pm
Come and help us strip down and disassemble the bicycles that are donated to us that are beyond repair. We will keep all of the parts that can be reused to build and fix up other bikes.
It’s the perfect session for people to get to grips with how a bicycle works and our friendly mechanics will be on hand to offer you guidance and advice. If you would like to volunteer with us but feel you need some basic skills, this is a great place to start. We have plenty of vol-unteering opportunities throughout the week, check the website for more details.

MAY MUSIC @ THE CANTEENThu1
Tail Feather/Perfect Life - Interesting ‘generation gap’ double bill, taking their lead from the hippy-rooted rock of the likes of Pink Floyd and Crazy Horse while Londoners Perfect Life have the New British riffiness and distant vocals of Pulp, Joy Division or Siouxsie Sioux. Both bands are equally tight as you like, however, and make properly catchy groovers as a matter of course.
Fri2
Electric Jalaba + Area Boys - Haunting vocals and driving North African rhythms underpin this remarkable Anglo-Moroccan fusion project, a space-age collaboration between electro-groovers Soundspecies and gnawa master musician Simo Lagnawi that slinks along like the best desert blues yet kicks like the subtlest kind of dub. Pure grooviness.
Sat3
John Fairhurst - slide-guitar fingers and gruffed up vocal chords to take you to some railroad siding in the South or the killing floors of Chicago.
Sun4
Bayou Secou - After nearly half a century spent gathering America’s roots music Jeanie McLerie and Ken Keppeler know the business inside out, from the dust of New Mexico to the cool Appalachians and the swamps of Louisiana. Their ace fiddles, accordion and guitar drive you down Cajun highways to old-time acoustic perfection.
Mon5
12 Months of Summer - Monthly showcase of the best acts from the acoustic scene pulled together by the sparkling Miss Rosina Buck (who is one such herself).
Tues6
Sculpture Music - two guys from Devon with a whole new sound somewhere between folk and jazz. Haunting vocals tell their story with the insistent delicacy of Hang and Halo gongs.
Wed7
Western Skyline - this Good ol’ country boy duo are actually more Eastville than Nash-ville, but the tunes are a mix of all your favourites from Dylan to Duelling Banjos.
Thur8
Errol’s Kitchen - Angular funk and good ol’ time hard hitting groves from Errol himself and a whole host of top class groovers!
Fri9
Radio Nasties - old-school rock’n’rollers bursting ready to get things bouncing from the off. Lifting a classic beat boom sound from the Kinks and adding the punkabilly edge.
Sat10
Wormfood presents Poeticat - There’s no way to sum up this lot in a few words: even poet Cat couldn’t. They are their own all-sorts with an attitude to match the art of their output.
Sun11
Diabel Cissokho - A fresh voice from the Senegalese griot culture, you can hear blues and soul in Diabel’s voice as well as the might of tradition in his kora playing.
Mon12
Canteen Jazz Session - An open jazz jam session for seasoned players to join the house trio and others in exploring classic jazz & latin tunes.
Tues13
Mary Spender - She’s a cut above your average singer/songwriter and guitarist, so its no surprise that Jelli Records have gathered Mary Spender into their talent-stuffed fold.
Wed14
Flamenco Jazz Brotherhood - A whole new take on Flamenco as two of the best local players - Cuffy and Ivan meet Cuban trumpet from Michel Padron and the impeccable jazz dou-ble bass of Roshan ’Tosh’ Wijetunge.
Thu15
Zadio Tanzi - an equal serving of African roots and American style in the original songs of Zadio Tanzi, a soulful husk of a singer whose Afro-blues style is a fresh sounding fusion.
Fri16
The Good, The Bad & The Funk - ‘Bad’ as in ‘Baaaaaad’ and ‘Funk’ as in ‘What you sitting down for?’ And ‘Good’ as in good. They’ve got the beats and the chops so bring those dancing feet.
Sat17
Bombs - Artful rockers from London with DJ Jimi Needles laceing their electric rock sound with just the right hints of darkness.
Sun18
Shinbone - The versatile talents of Fifi Fiddle (aka Fiona Barrow) take a new turn in a Texas-wards direction with this excursion into the jazz-meets-country territory of Western Swing.
Mon19
Leonie Evans Blues Session - Her acoustic duo Good Biscuits revealed Leonie Evans to be a doyen of the low-down dirty kind of blues of greats like Memphis Minnie, Victoria Spivey and others - and there’s few who have the voice to pull that style off.
Tues20
Harry Bird & The Rubber Wellies - A hard-working and semi-nomadic trio of folk-hippies ‘based in Ireland, Portugal and Holland’ (?) giving the world a quizzical eye and then setting the results to lilting country melodies with good-time choruses you can all join in.
Wed21
Brooke Sharkey & Adam Beattie - Two singer/songwriters who each play in the other’s band, the cool clarity of her (Brooke’s) voice somehow balancing his (Adam’s) street-scuffed tones. She has a folk gypsy calling, he an Americana compass. It works because they’re both so damned good.
Thur22
Toyface - Reckless and whimsical singer/songwriter Toyface takes her eloquent confes-sional poetry and strings it across a deceptively simple musical scaffolding before singing it with loads of pizzazz.
Fri23
Afrocluster - They love that funk, Afrobeat and hip-hop and they refuse to choose. Cardiff collective Afro Cluster put it all together and, by jingo, it fits, Lagos horns, Sugar Hill scratching, Bootsy bass-bubbles ... whatever.
Sat24
Nubiyan Twist - Blistering coming-together of proper reggae grooves, baying Ethiopian brass, twittering electronics and, rising above the 12-piece band with easy magnificence, the amazing vocals of Nubiya Brandon. It’s all tight as you like and heart-liftingly good.
Sun25
Jon Kenzie - his debut album ‘Not Much Technical Stuff’ says a lot about the straightfor-ward rocking funk grooves underpinning Jon’s soul and blues influenced original songs.
Mon26
Canteen Jazz Session - An open jazz jam session for seasoned players to join the house trio and others in exploring classic jazz & latin tunes.
Tues27
Too Strong Lollipop - Acoustic trio bringing together musicians hailing from jamiaca, spain & hungary to create a sun filled original jaunty sound.
Wed28
The Foghorn Stringband - Two fiddles, one guitar and a double bass - and all straight out of Portland Oregon. This is the pure unvarnished sound of an old-time American campfire picnic, where every hearty ‘Yee’ has a gut-bustin’ ‘Ha!’ to match and even if you can’t do a buck and a wing you can still step up to the beat.
Thur29
Duval Project - This combo pulled together by trumpeter Gary Alesbrook recalls his time with Lynden David Hall and other contemporary R’n’B artists with a super tight rhythm section and the spot-on vocal talents of Marie Lister.
Fri 30
Perhaps Contraption - This lot should be Dutch or something - they have that kind of dislocated strangeness. Think of an 8-piece brass band just out of Art College with degrees in Randomness, Surrealism, Hilarity and Music. Now double it. Famed for rambling perfor-mances that no stage could contain, giving circus a good and bad name simultaneously: the clue is in the name. Apparently.
Sat 31
Poor Old Dogs - They call it ‘folk music to stomp to’, and it’s the kind of acoustic skifflebilly racket Billy Bragg’s delinquent younger cousin might make. Who’s the flipping milkman?
