What are the aims of the scheme?

• To learn more about yourself and others.• To give all children opportunity to recognise

leadership skills in themselves and other people.• To develop new skills.• To learn more about relationships with your peer

group, other children and adults.• To encourage co-operation, teamwork, self-

confidence, independence and communication.

• Non-competitive• Flexible• Progressive• Personal Development• A marathon not a sprint• Enjoyable• Encourages you and others• Self-motivated

How will it work?

There are 4 sections to complete.

• People• Skills• Service• Wider World

You can achieve either Bronze, Silver or Gold. However, to achieve an award you must complete one task from all 4 sections.

PeopleThe main focus of this section is to work with

different groups of people, including younger children, your peer group,

adults and people within the community.

Skills • This is to help you to develop a range of

interpersonal skills, e.g. co-operation, teamwork, self confidence, independence, communication, empathy.

• Also to embrace new experiences.

Service To develop business awareness and

enterprise skills.

To increase awareness of the needs of others through work linked to a charity.

You have to demonstrate involvement in Community and

Global Issues.

Paperwork

Yawn, Yawn! Yes I know this is the boring bit for some of you. Every time you complete a task you must fill in ‘A Record of Achievement’.But don’t worry it is not all about the written record, all we want to see is evidence of you completing your task, photographs are always useful. We will always help you with this bit!!
