Definitions1. "Container"meansanyfreightcontainercomplyingwithallrelevantprevailingISO
standards.Generally,itisdesignedtofacilitatethecarriageofgoodsbyoneormoremodeswithoutintermediatereloading;fittedwithdevicespermittingreadyhandlingandwithuniqueidentificationnumbersandmarkings.
2. “Customer”meansimporter,exporter,shippinglinesandshallincludetheiragentswhoavailtheservicesofHalterm.
3. “PortAuthority”shallmeanHalifaxPortAuthority4. "Reefer"meansanyContainerforthepurposeofthecarriageofgoods,whichrequires
Temperaturecontrol.5. “Tonne”andtheabbreviation“MT”meansmetrictonnesof1000kilogramsandwhatever
weightsdeclaredinmeasureofLongTonaccordingtoBritishUnit,therateofconversionofsuchtonintometricUnitofweightshallbe1,016.05kilograms.
6. “Tonne”forliquidsinbulkmeansametrictonneof1000litresincaseofliquidswhosedensityisequaltoorlessthan1gramper1cubiccentimetreandametrictonneequalto1000kilogramsincaseofheavierliquidwithdensityabove1gramper1cubiccentimetre.
7. “Vessel”includesanyship,barge,boat,sailingvesselsoranyotherdescriptionofvesselusedinnavigation.
