Intern, 1261 Chews Landing Rd, Laurel Springs NJ , 08021 Full Time 36hrs/week

My main task as an intern was to gather information on burglaries that have occurred in the last 2 years in Gloucester Twp. I read through each burglary report and broke the report down into things like address, time the incident occurred, the date, what was taken, how the offender gained entry, if an arrest was made, etc. Once I was done gathering all the data and putting it into excel I sat down with the GTP head intelligence woman and I sat down together and looked for any patterns for the information. After so we presented our finding to the chief of police and he used the information to see where resources can be used and what to do differently to reduce burglary rates. As an intern I also assisted with the Junior Police Academy summer camp, which included field trips, demonstrations, and physical fitness activities. Some of the demonstrations and information sessions for the camp put on and I watched were theK-9 unit, bomb squad, and the fire department was also taken to the gun range and taught gun safety, how to shoot a gun, and also performed live scenarios with the SWAT team. I also attended traffic and criminal court. Also, I assisted with setting up and running a press release. Also, I went around with the police officers for National Night Out. I assisted with going into schools and teaching D.A.R.E to the children.
