gear tooth sensor, for use in crankshaft
applications, incorporates improved EMC
and tighter repeatabilityacross the entire
automotive temperature range. The dual-
element Hall IC with integrated magnet,

The A3065LKis ideal for crankshaft speed
sensing applications using ring magnets.
This AC-coupled differential sensor with
on-chip capacitor, is a true zero crossing
detector and accurately detects both the
rising and falling mechanical edges.

The ATS671/2LSEzero-speed gear
tooth sensors are ideal solutions for use
in camshaft speed sensing applications and
are especially tolerant of gear eccentricity
(wobble). The true power-on state feature,
achieved through the use of a single-element
Hall IC and a patented magnet, gives an
accurate position indication of the gear at
the moment the sensor is enabled. Adaptive
thresholds, automatic gain control (AGC) andhigh-resolution DACs are used to achieve
accurate and repeatable switch points,
independent of airgap. The ATS671 and
ATS672 versions provide optional threshold
choices to meet a wide range of application
requirements.

The ATS650LSHis designed with an
integrated magnet and IC for use in ABS
wheel speed applications. The single-chip IC
contains three highly sensitive Hall elements
and a sophisticated digital circuit to provide
both accurate speed and direction
information. The regulated current output
is configured for two-wire operation

The A114xrepresent Allegros new family
of field programmable, two-wire, uni-polar
switches. These two-wire devices allow
customers to externally trim the operate
point, after final assembly, to dial out
mechanical stack-ups resulting from man-
ufacturing process tolerances. In addition to
reducing manufacturing costs and liability
by eliminating one wire in the application,
there is also the benefit of inherent diagnostic
capabilities. As there are two distinct current
levels, a control unit can interpret open/short
and indeterminate states based on the output
of the device.
The A114x devices are available in both SOT23W
(LH) and TO-92 SIP (UA) packages.

The A1321/A1322/A1323devices are the
first linear Hall-effect sensors available in the
miniature SOT23W package. They will be
offered in three sensitivity ranges; 2.5 mV/G,
3.125 mV/G, and 5 mV/G. The features of this
linear family are ideal for use in linear and
rotary position sensing systems in harsh
environments of automotive and industrial
applications over extended temperatures to
40C and 150C. End-of-line programmability
allows for tight specifications. This new
family of DABIC 5 factory programmable
linear sensors replaces Allegros existing
family of chopper-stabilized standard linear
devices (A3515 and A3516).

The A3245/46integrated circuits are
omnipolar, ultra-sensitive Hall-effect switches
with digital outputs. These sensors are espe-
cially suited for operation over extended
temperature ranges to +150C. Superior
high-temperature performance is made
possible through Allegro patented dynamic
offset cancellation, which reduces the residual
offset voltage normally caused by device over
molding, temperature dependencies, and
thermal stress. The patented omnipolar feature
allows operation with either a north or a south
pole of sufficient strength turning the output
on; in the absence of a magnetic field, the
output is off. The magnet polarity indepen-
dence allows this device family to easily
replace reed switches for superior reliability
and ease of manufacturing, while eliminating
the requirement for signal conditioning.

The A3425dual-output Hall-effect sensor
is specifically designed for high-resolution
ring magnet encoder applications. The sensor
consists of two sensitive Hall-effect switches,
with elements 1 mm apart to provide
accurate detection of the magnet zero-
crossings. When used with an appropriately-
dimensioned magnet, quadrature signals
are generated which can be used for
decoding absolute position. Photolitho-
graphic alignment of the elements
eliminates the mechanical stack-up
tolerances experienced with two discrete
elements. Factory programming allows for
precise matching of the two comparator
outputs over a wide temperature range.
The A3425 is available in a four lead K
package and eight lead SOIC-8.

Allegros micro-power family of omnipolar
digital switches consist of ultra-sensitive, pole
independent Hall-effect switches with a
latched digital output. These devices are
especially suited for the detection of
open-closed positions in battery-operated,
hand-held equipment such as cellular and
cordless telephones, pagers, and laptop
computers. All three devices incorporate a
unique clocking scheme, which reduces the
average operating power requirements.
The patented omnipolar feature simplifies
application assembly by allowing the device
to detect the presence or absence of a
magnetic field, irrespective of the magnets
polarity. These devices are offered in a single
inline (UA) package, a SOT23W surface
mount package, and an ultra-slim micro
leadframe package (MLP). The A3213
and A3214 devices feature 2.4 V to 5.5 V
operation. These sensors are suited foroperation over extended temperature
ranges to +150C.

The Allegro ACS750 family of current
sensorsprovides economical and precise
solutions for current sensing in industrial,
commercial, automotive, and communications
systems, packaged for easy implementation.
The sensor consists of a precision linear Hall IC
optimized to an internal magnetic circuit to
increase device sensitivity. The power lead
frame used for current sensing is designed
for extremely low power loss. The power
terminals are also electrically isolated from
the sensor leads. This allows the ACS750
family of sensors to be used in applications
requiring electrical isolation without the
use of opto-isolators or other costly
isolation techniques.
