Half Acre is a striking wedding and event space in South Melbourne, located in a historic mill in Fisherman’s Bend.
Award winning architects Design Office, (Higher Ground, A. Baker), Sophie DiPasquale
(Studio Pasquale, and formerly head designer at Fiona Lynch) and award-winning florist
and event stylist, Michael Strownix have transformed 112 Munro Street into a singular
urban sanctuary while ensuring the building’s heritage has been maintained, restored and
highlighted.
The grandeur of the old Mill - with its exposed brick walls and soaring stained timber
ceilings, dating to the early 1900s - sets the scene for a relaxed, comfortable, intimate, and
unique wedding and event experience.
Half Acre provides the setting for Melbourne’s food&desire to deliver a distinctive catering
presentation with emphasis on seasonal Australian produce from local suppliers and
growers. Now in its 18th year, food&desire consistently delivers spectacular events on
every scale, with a reputation for excellence that has made it one of city’s catering leaders.

VENUE INCLUSIONS
Half Acre provides in house PA system with CD player, iPod connection, plasma in the foyer, lectern,
hands free and roving microphone, five rigging bars, wireless internet access and three phase power.
Harry the Hirer is the appointed in-house audio-visual supplier. Should you have any audio-visual
requirements, we would be delighted to discuss this with a Harry the Hirer representative and include
a tailored quotation with our proposal. Alternatively, you may prefer to speak directly with our
representative regarding your particular needs

Half Acre is designed specifically without the need for tablecloths.
However full linen tables and alternative table sizes can be arranged upon request

Staging can be arranged with your Event Coordinator. Pricing varies from $660.00 to $1,200.00
inclusive of GST and delivery depending on the size of your stage.

General
Our food&desire Events Co ordinator will be in contact with you four months prior to your
wedding date, they’ll assist with your wedding venue check list, menu design, floor plan
creation and assist with your suppliers, and entertainment options. We are fortunate to
partner with some of the most creative events people in Melbourne and with them we will
ensure that even your smallest detail makes the biggest impact.
Service
A deposit of $3,000.00 or 10% of the minimum food and beverage, whichever is the
greater, is required to confirm your booking. The amount will be applied against your
prepayment invoice. Interim payment due 120 days prior to the event, 60% of the
minimum food & beverage cost is payable. Final numbers are due 10 days with pre
payment required 7 working days prior to your event. If you are writing a cheque, please
make your payment to ‘food&desire’.
Reservation and Booking
A minimum of one security guard is required for every event at Aerial. The guard is required
on site at the venue half an hour prior to your guests’ arrival, and half an hour past your
guests’ departure time. Please allow $55.00 per hour per security guard inclusive of GST.
Please note final guest numbers and the nature of event may require additional security.
