Falling Gem Duel "Falling Gem Duel" is a mixture of a Tetris-style puzzle game and a Japanese-themed 2D samurai 1-on-1 fighter. Each player is given a Samurai on their corresponding side which they control. The object of the game is to use your Samurai to defeat the opposing player's, incorporating various special attacks that damage and/or affect them. The samurai-fighting aspect plays a small, yet vital, role. Most of the player focus is on the bottom half of the screen, which each player is also given a falling gem box on their side of the screen. Various colors of gems fall from the top of the screen in steady intervals, and the main player motivation is to line them up with their keyboard left and right buttons, and form blocks of at least 3 gems with the same color. Once the player has a set of blocks ranging from 3-5 gems, they can use their mouse, which looks like a katana, to "stab" the column/pillar, removing the set from the box, and adding it to the player's collection. The Samurai's special abilities cost the use of these blocks, and the size of the block affects how powerful the ability will be. For instance, if the next block to be used is a block of 3 gems - the minimum requirement for collection - then the ability used won't be very powerful, whereas if the block has 5 gems in it, the resulting ability will be much more useful. The abilities range from making a swing of the samurai's katana, to shielding the next enemy attack, shrugging off an amount of damage, to an even bigger attack - costing more blocks - which knocks the samurai over and dazes him, effectively stopping the enemy's gems from falling for a few seconds, giving you a slight edge for a time. The most interesting special ability is one called Earthquake, which causes the samurai side of the screen to shake for a second. After the screen shakes, the block used to fuel the ability drops from your collection, and drops into the enemy's side, turning it into a permanent block, taking up space in their falling gem area. These blocks cannot be destroyed, and the player will have to work around them to collect their gems. Each samurai will have a life bar in the top right and left-hand corners of the screen, which represent their health. Obviously, when

Each samurai will have a life bar in the top right and left-hand corners of the screen, which represent their health. Obviously, when these bars empty, the person's samurai dies, yielding victory for the other. The remainder of the top half is taken up by the dueling area. The lower half is divided into 4 boxes, representing each player's falling gem area, as well as a slightly thinner box on the outer side which holds the player's collection of gem blocks. The top half of the gem collection boxes display the buttons for the special abilities.
