Day 1 Departure Date: 23rd July 2019 / (20th Dhul al Qadha 1440)
Meet at Manchester / Heathrow for flight to Madinah Please make sure you have your travel documents
(passports etc.) with you. Everyone is expected to arrive
early and register with the Sunnah Tours Team. Thereafter
everyone is expected to check in individually and make their
way to the departure lounge and ensure they board their
flight on time.
Sunnah Tour’s Guides will accompany the pilgrims from
Manchester / Heathrow Airport until their return to the UK
Insha’Allah.
Day 1
Arrival iMadinah Check into hotel in Madinah Immigration at Madinah airport can take up to 6 hours or
more. It can be quite stressful after a long journey from the
UK, and then having to waiting around at Madinah airport not
knowing how long it would be before we are all clear to make
our way to the hotel. However, being prepared and knowing
what to expect helps to build patience and cope with some of
these difficulties. The immigration and facilities at Madinah
Airport have improved a great deal over the past few years
and are continually improving. So, it is not as bad as
previous years.
The Gold Package will be flying from Jeddah to Madinah
Airport. Immigration at Madinah Airport is much more swift
than Jeddah. We will travel by coach from Madinah airport to
our hotel in Madinah (Anwar Al Madinah Mövenpick).
Please note, checking into the hotel in Madinah and can also
take a few hours.
After resting in your room, try to ensure you perform all your
prayers in Masjid al-Nabawi.
Tip: If you wish to offer prayers in Riyadh al-Jannah, please
note it is very busy and often very difficult to find space. The
only time that it is relatively quite is between 10pm and 1am.
Day 2
Rest day in Madinah
A much-needed rest day after a tiring journey from the UK.
Take the day to rest and build up energy, and enjoy the
experience of praying in our beloved Prophets beautiful
Masjid. Feel free to explore around in the masjid by going up
onto the roof, or visit the library in the Masjid.
Daily lectures in Arabic, Urdu, English and many other
languages take place in the Prophets Masjid after Fajr and
Maghrib payers. It is highly recommended to attend and take
great benefit from these classes.
Tip: Visiting the Baqi Graveyard.
The Baqi graveyard is adjacent to the grave of our beloved
Prophet Muhammad ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص at the front of the Masjid
towards
the left. It is open to individual visitors after Asr. Please note large organised group visits to the Baqi
graveyard are unwelcome by the authorities. You may choose
to pray Maghrib or Isha (it’s usually a little cooler at these
times) outside at the front of the Masjid to the left of the Imam,
and then accompany the funeral for the burial (which is
almost after every Salah). This is not only a Sunnah but is a
heart softener and leaves an everlasting affect. You can do
this as many times as you like during your stay in Madinah
Day 3
Prayers in the Masjid & Visiting Masjid Quba (optional) You can choose to visit Masjid Quba after making wudu from
in your room at the hotel. By doing so you earn the reward of
an Umrah. Our Beloved Prophet Muhammad ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص said,
“Whoever purifies himself in his house, then comes to
the Masjid of Quba and prays there, he will have the
reward of an Umrah.” (Narrated by Ibn Maajah, 1412).
Tip: It costs between 20 to 30 riyals for a return taxi ride to
Masjid Quba and back (if you are good at haggling - if not
then you could end up paying a lot more). After Fajr is usually
a good time to visit. A visit to Masjid Quba is part of the
Sunnah Tours Ziyyarah trip which will take place tomorrow.
Day 4
Visit of Historical Sites in Madinah
After breakfast around 7:30am we leave for a guided tour of
the historical sites in and around the city of our beloved
Prophet Muhammad ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص . We will return approx
11:30am-12.00pm. Please make sure you carry bottled
drinking water with you as it can get quite hot at Mount
Uhud.
The tour goes through most of the historical sites in Madinah
stopping at some of the sites like Uhud, Masjid Quba, Masjid
Qiblatain etc. We will also be driving pass some historical
sites. The tour is quite enjoyable and informative as we
retrace the footsteps of the Messenger of Allah and some of
the greatest men and women that were around Him.
It is also an excellent opportunity to see the city of Madinah.
There may also be a lecture after Asar prayer.
Day 5
Prayers in the Masjid and any last minute shopping
Most of the pilgrims tend to do most of their shopping in
Madinah for a few reasons, such as shops being located
close by to the hotels in the shopping plazas in the Tayba
Centre. Also Madinah is not as busy as Makkah. Any
remaining shopping can be done in Makkah or some last-
minute shopping can be done in Azziziyah.
Tip: Exchanging Currencyexchange shop are called Saraf
or Sarf and they are located near the pedestrian walk ways
leading up to the Masjid.
Tip: Pakistani Restaurants can be found at the back of our
hotel. They can be found by walking across the streets at the
back of the hotel and crossing over a construction site. The
Pakistani restaurants are situated across the road from the
construction site. They are called Pakistani Hotels.
Western fast food chains such as Kentucky Fried Chicken
etc. are located in the last left street from the hotel leading up
to the Masjid. Please feel free ask a member of the Sunnah
Tours staff for assistance if needed.
Day 6 Date: 28th Julyt 2019 / (25th Dhul al Qadha 1440)
Last Minute Shopping & Packing Luggage
If there is any last minute shopping you need to do, then this
is the day to do it. You should also pack your luggage. There
will also be a lecture on the journey from Madinah to Makkah
about how to perform Umrah.
Checkout from Madinah Hotel and Heading for Makkah
You may choose to change into your Ihram from the hotel or
change at the Meqaat (Dhul Hulayfah). However you can only
pronounce the intention and Talbiyah from the Meqaat, as
that is when you will enter into the state of Ihram.
Please leave your luggage outside your rooms at around 8am
so that the porters can start taking it down to the loading
bay. Please ensure every single item, including your hand
bags etc. have a Sunnah Tours luggage tag tied to it. This is
important to ensure everyones luggage stays together as
many other groups will also be checking out at the same
time. Sunnah Tours cannot be held responsible for damaged
or lost luggage.
You can stay in your rooms until hotel management ask you
to check out.
The coach Journey to Makkah can take up to 8-10 hours,
including the stop at the Meqaat and 1or 2 other stops. The
more times we stop the longer the journey becomes. We
recommend you take some food and cold drinks with you on
the journey.
Day 6 Date: 28th 2019/ (25th Dhul al Qadha 1440)
Checking into Hotel in Makkah
Arriving at the hotel in Makkah and checking in can take a
good few hours and be quite stressful, especially after the
long journey from Madinah. Therefore we advise everyone to
be prepared and have patience.
Day 7 -8 - 9-10
Prayers & Tawaaf
As it gets busier by the hour in the Haram, please take extra
care while performing your Tawafs. Check to see how busy it
is in the Mataf (ground floor around the Ka’bah) if it’s too
crowded, bear in mind thats it’s always a lot quieter and
easier on the roof, especially for the families. It is a
longer circuit, however it’s very peaceful and there is
almost no
pushing and shoving on the roof. During the evening
especially, performing Tawaf on the roof has a nice and fresh
feeling in the open-air Masha ‘Allah.
You may choose to sit and listen to an Urdu lecture in the
Haram given daily by Shaykh Wasiullah Abbas after
Maghrib prayers. To find out the location of the Urdu
lectures please ask any of the Sunnah Tour guides.
Tip: While you will be able to have breakfast in the hotel,
there is also food court on the third floor (P3) situated down
from the lifts from the hotel reception, which offers all the
major western fast food chains as well as Arabic and Asian
cuisine.
Prayers & Tawaaf
Do explore the Haram in order to appreciate the history and
the greatness of the place. Some of the greatest men and
women were born, lived, and walked in around this place.
Day 11
Visit of Historical Sites in Makkah
At around 7:30am we will be leaving for a guided tour of the
historical sites in and around Makkah (Arafat, Mina,
Muzdhalifah etc.), therefore ensure you have had breakfast
before we leave for the tour.
Visiting the historical sites in Makkah usually takes approx 4
hours. We kindly advise everyone to stick to the times
allowed for the stoppages at some of the sites so that we can
make it back for the Dhur prayer in the Haram, as the reward
for every prayer performed in the Haram is equal to
performing 100,000 prayers.
Day 12 -13 Prayers & Tawaaf
Take advantage of your days in Makkah to ensure you
perform all your prayers on time in the Haram. Buy yourself
some Islamic books and increase your knowledge.
Remember time is precious, so spend it wisely.
Day 14
Pack Luggage
Time to begin packing your luggage as we will be leaving for
Azziziyah tomorrow.
Date: 5th August 2019 / (4th Dhul Hijjah 1440)
Check out of Makkah Hotel & Head to Aziziyah
We will be checking out of our hotel in Makkah and
proceeding to Azziziyah. The benefit of staying in Aziziyah is
that we can settle into apartments and rest. Please note
accommodation in Aziziyah is basic but fully functional. The atmosphere is pleasant and all meals are provided during your stay in Aziziyah.
Tip: It is a good time to start contemplating and preparing
spiritually and mentally for Hajj, as it’s only few days away.
Day 15 -16 - 17 -18
Guided Tour of the Jamaraat
After Asr prayers there will be a guided tour of the Jamaraat
and how to perform the stoning correctly and safely. This will
take up to 2 hours due to a lot of stops on the tour.
Light Pack Essentials
Light pack essentials such as toiletries, a couple of pairs
of clothes, towel etc. and prepare to leave for Mina.
It is a pleasant and enjoyable (highly recommended) walk
after Isha to the Mina tents (most of the group walked over
last year). Another option is to wait for the transport.
Rest day in Azziziyah & Lecture and Advice on Hajj
Opportunity for a day of rest in Azziziyah and to prepare
mentally and spiritually for the upcoming days of Hajj.
First Day in Mina
Prayers and reminders on the rites of Hajj. All meals are
provided with the comfort of sofa beds, pillows and blankets.
Hot and cold drinks also provided.
Day 19 Date: 10th August 2019 / (09th Dhul Hijjah1440)
The Day of Arafah
The day you have been waiting for, the Day of Hajj! We
pray Fajr and await for the transport to take us to Arafah.
In Arafah we pray Dhur and Asr and spend the rest of the day
supplicating and making Du’a with our hands raised,
standing or sitting, and asking Allah for forgiveness and
guidance.
This is the MOST important day of the entire journey!
Our Beloved Prophet Muhammad ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص said,
“There is no day on which Allah frees people from the Fire
more so than on the day of Arafah.” (Jaami’ut- Tirmidhee (3/377)]).
The standing on ‘Arafah is the Hajj. The crowds should
remind you of the Day of Resurrection. Humble yourself to
Allah, manifest your’ submission’ to Him Alone through Du’a
with the sincere intention and strong determination to free
yourself from the sins of your past and to build up a
commitment to rush for doing what is good. Think of
becoming a better person when you return. Rid yourself of
false pride and showing off because it may ruin what you
gain on this day.
After Maghrib all the pilgrims will be transported from Arafah
to Muzdhalifah where Maghrib and Isha will be prayed. In
Muzdhalifah everyone should rest as the Messenger of Allah
ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص rested.
Day 20 Date: 11th August 2019 / (10th Dhul Hijjah1440) Stoning the Jamaraat & The Day of Eid
The Prophet ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص stood between the Jamaraat on the Day
of Sacrifice during his Hajj and said, ”This is the greatest
day of Hajj.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 1742)
That is because the greatest actions of Hajj take place on
this day, when the pilgrims do the following: a. Stoning Jammarat al- ‘Aqabah b) Offering the sacrifice
c) Shaving the head or cutting the hair
d) Tawaf (circumambulation of the Ka ’bah)
e) Saa’i (between al-Safa and al-Marwah)
Day 21-22 -23 -24 Date: 12th August 2019 / (11th Dhul Hijjah1440)
Stoning all the Jamaraat
Once this has been completed we will be having some
reminders and spending the night in Mina.
Date: 13th August 2019 / (12th Dhul Hijjah1440)
Stoning all the Jamaraat
Once this has been completed you can choose to leave Mina
or stay for the final day.
Date: 14th August 2019 / (13th Dhul Hijjah1440)
Stoning all the Jamaraat & Heading to Aziziyah
Once all the Jamaraat have been stoned, we leave Mina and
head back to the apartments in Azziziyah to rest and build up
energy.
