With a game like thissometimes you don’t knowwhere to start. Should I startwith the impressive freethrows percentage, the greatway the bench stepped up, orwith the immensely large foulcount? Let’s just start at thebeginning.

The Bombers started outwith an impressive first halfof scoring at 27points. JesseDunigan stepped up early,and even got himself a 3point bucket. Other scorers inthe first half were ChrisDavis who had 12 points,Clay Chandler with 9 points,Zack Chaykowsky getting a 3point bucket, and Joey Bom-marito with 2 points. Thisgave the bombers a 2 pointlead going into the second

half. Jake Williams for theEagles led with 8 points inthe first half.

Going into the 2nd halfwith a 2 point lead shouldhelp us get off to a great startright? Well you would bewrong. For whatever reasonthere was the Bombers didnot show up in the 3rd quar-ter. We only scored 4 pointsin the entire 8 minutes of thethird quarter. The Eaglesscored 11 giving them the 34to 31 lead. Finally we wokeup and realized it’s time toplay. We came back to tie thegame and go into overtimefor the first time with a gameat 42 points apiece.

Being in the pep bandgoing into overtime is a goodthing, especially when theopposing team is comingright at the goal where theband is at. We can whoop and

holler while they try andshoot free throws, we justcan’t play our instruments.So maybe it was just anxiety,or maybe the band had some-thing to do with it, but theyonly shot 50% from the lineduring both overtime quar-ters. Ballard, on the otherhand, shot 89% from the linein both overtime quarters.

Overall Ballard’s wincame from the free throwline. When you have 15 foulscommitted against a teamthey usually lose or win thegame because of this. Thistime we won. Ballard shot animpressive 90% from the freethrow line in this game. An-other reason we won is be-cause of their percentagefrom the line. They shot anaverage 65%. That will defin-ably win a game for some-one.
