From the Principal’s Desk
Everyday should be Earth Day! At Holy Rosary our students will be busy cleaning up litter that has been left behind under the snow. (This of course will be after the snow melts). First of all we have a close connection with Earth Day, as the founder was Wisconsin’s own former Governor and Senator Gaylord Nelson. Senator Nelson, a leading environmentalist, came up with the idea for Earth Day in 1969, after seeing firsthand the impact of an oil spill off the coast of Santa Barbara, California. Senator Nelson passed away in July, 2005.
We are called to be good stewards of the Earth by the teachings of our Catholic faith. Good stewardship should be a way of life, a way of love as we recognize God’s love for us. Stewards see everything good from the earth as gifts received from God, and they respond in gratitude with the gift of self. So this Earth Day, do an act that will help save the Earth and say a prayer of thanks for all the gifts around us.
Blessings, Mrs. Debbie Johnston, Principal
'...Amen I say to you, whatever you did for the least of my brothers, you did for me.' ~ Matthew 25:40
