Resident Spotlight Orv and Marty Hollrah Orv and Marty moved to HHR ten years ago to be nearer to their family. Marty grew up in Illinois on Lake Springfield. She enjoyed water sports and horse- back riding. After graduating from SIU with a degree in Speech Pathology, she got her first job with the Ferguson/ Florissant School District and moved to St. Louis. Orv attended St. Charles (MO) High School, where he became an outstanding baseball pitcher. He attended Mizzou, earned a degree in Accounting and continued to excel at baseball. Though drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies and the Atlanta Braves, he was determined to finish college so turned them down. After college he joined the Chicago White Sox who allowed their players to serve in the reserves, so he joined the Marines. Orv spent eight years playing amateur baseball and four years in the pros earning him recognition in the Hall of Fame for St. Charles County, the University of Missouri, and the St. Louis Amateur Baseball. Orv and Marty were introduced through a mutual friend. They began dating during the off season and when Orv returned to Chicago for Spring Training he was hurt and forced to retire before Marty ever got to see him play! Once married, they raised four daughters, all of whom Orv coached in softball. Marty became a stay at home Mom, and later sold real estate before returning to teaching. Orv worked for Monsanto, then joined May Companys real estate division handling tax issues for their numerous properties. He later opened a property tax management company which he operated until he retired. While raising the girls, they always took a family vacation, and have traveled to England, Europe, throughout the US, Alaska and Hawaii. Today, they enjoy baseball, basketball and football games, as well as track meets and cheer com- petitions for their five grandsons and two granddaughters. At the April 2 meeting the BOA approved an escrow agreement with the Lake Saint Louis Fire Protection District for construction of their new Fire Station which will be across from Family Video on LSL Blvd.

At the April 16 meeting the BOA approved a final subdivision plat for Plat 2 of the Mill Creek Subdivision consisting of 34 single family lots. This is the area on the east side of LSL Blvd next to Plat 1 which is now under construction. This area was recently cleared of the structures that previously occupied the tract.

Also a resolution was approved of a Site Plan and Special Use Permit for construction of a 10.080 square foot warehouse and office building with an onsite material and equipment storage yard located on Lots 1B and !c of Wies Industrial Park.

Swim Fitness Classes Begin this week! If the outside temperature is above 65, we will be in the pool. It’s always a good idea to bring both your suit and indoor clothes just in case there are weather changes. See the calendar for new days/times for classes. Kathleen is recommending that we wear swim shoes to protect our feet in the pool.

Unimproved Common Ground We have received requests from homeowners asking about development or improvements planned for “unimproved” common ground areas around the property. The builders (Whittaker, Pulte and Lombardo) made landscape improvements (trees, berms) etc. when they developed the property. Most common ground areas that back to home sites are “undeveloped” and will be left in their natural state. The HOA has no plans to improve or alter “undeveloped” common ground areas at this time. Even dead trees and limbs that may fall will be left as is unless they pose a threat of damage to a home. This being said, the HOA has allowed residents to make improvements or plant trees on HHR common ground by their home with proper approval by submitting an architectural request form. Please call me if you have any questions. Kelly
