A SPORT OUR GIRLS PREFER

Page 2: Gymnastics

GYMNASTICSGymnastics is one of the most popular sports when it comes to young girls. It is a basic sport, which guarantees success in other sports, because it's one of the best ways of training. Our gymnastics hall is old (the board on the front wall says that it is almost 99 years old) but even now it is still used, and over time has been filled with new and better equipment. It is called ‘Sokolsko drustvo’, so when we go to competitions and win one of three best ranks, we are represented under that name.

The hall is big, with lots of equipment: balance beam, floor exercises, parallel bars and vault for the girls; while equipment for the boys isn't in use because its too small for such serious exercises. There is trampoline, various kinds of mats, and other pieces of equipment necessary for successful training.

Children are grouped according to their determination, age and willingness.

Sometimes they have 2 practices a day, each of them lasting for 2 hours. It is usually girls who are in the gymnastics hall since early age. They are very keen on gymnastics.

Through gymnastics, children can improve their social skills while listening and following the rules, being quiet, respecting elders and a lot more. To face a challenge, they have to overcome their fears, after which accomplishment comes. It is most wonderful part of this sport. But, we mustn't forget to mention the most important factor: a strong will!
