The programme started with the prayer song sung by Hetal Solanki which followed with lamp light- ing ceremony by the chief guests. Dr. Kaushal H. Yadav gave a brief intro- duction about the estab- lishment of A.G Teachers College. She also talked about the activities con- ducted in the college dur- ing the academic year of 2013-2014. She also threw light on the activi- ties and seminars already done for the academic year 2014-2015 till date. Thereafter Hetu Sharma presented a poem which was followed by the video presentation of KCG. The students were informed about the establishment and objectives of Knowl- edge Consortium of Guja- rat (KCG). They were also educated on the Sapthdhara concept being Cognitive, Creative, Art and Craft, Dance and Mu- sic, Sports, Social and Drama. After the beautiful presen- tation by the representa- tive of KCG, the College acknowledged the high merit holders of each method according to their combined rank obtained from the Gujarat Univer- sity. The students were honored by a token of appreciation given by the chief guests. At the end, all the stu- dents took oath to main- tain the integrity of col- lege and bring glory to the college. A meet- ing was conducted with the staff members and union members. A de- tailed planning of how the celebration has to be car- ried out was discussed. The distribution and the management of various activities were done for the rest of the days of the celebration. 02 nd Sep : Today the Col- lege conducted various activities to honour the celebration. It started with Patriotic song ‘Kar chale hum fida jano tan sathiyo’ sung by Hetal Solanki, which was fol- lowed by a speech on Gandhiji’s contribution for the independence of India delivered by Monika Chandak. 05th Sep: An oath Taking Ceremony of members of Student Union was car-ried out. The chief guest of the pro-gramme was Dr. B.R Chaudhari (Retired professor of A.G Teachers College). The programme was hosted by Monika Chandak. The G.S, L.R and all the members of student Union took their oath in presence of the chief guest, the Principal, faculty members

To grace the celebration Hetu Sharma recited the poem by an Indian Poet Amita Modi titled ‘Three Curtains’. All the students enjoyed the three activities conducted in the Assembly and also had moist eyes after listening to the Patriotic Song. After the regular lec-tures, college also conducted a sports activity of playing Chess. The students actively participated in the game and adorned the celebration. After the game, students are all geared up for the next day’s activity of Teacher’s Day celebration 03rd Sep: On this day, our students got an opportunity to enact like their teach-ers and first three lectures were given by Hetu Sharma, Rakha Gadiya and Parul Darji. After this cultural pro-

gramme was organised this started with Guru Vandana, followed by felicitation of professors by flowers. Hetal Sharma mesmerized the entire AGAIN by her song. After song, a speech was given by Babitha Reddiar on ‘Ideal teacher’. Students of our college showed their acting skills in a Gujarati drama titled ‘Aaj no Shikshak’.

04th Sep: Today the College conducted an activity on expression of innovative ideas. Students were asked to write down their innovative ideas on paper chits and drop them into a box, kept in the classroom. Students enthusiastically participated and expressed their ideas. Also, another activity of poster presen-tation was carried out. Poster was pre-

pared with slogans on ‘Women Em-powerment’ written by students of the class.

Whenever one’s sister, mother, wife are in a situation where they need urgent help from the police or they want the police to come and rescue them. Then they have to dial 1091 (toll free) even if they are unable to speak they need not worry still po-lice will trace their location and come

to rescue them. It is majorly useful for women requiring help in emergency situation like rape, molestation, eve teasing, domestic violence, kidnap-ping,etc.D.Y S P. gave a brief introduc-tion about the various crimes which happens with women. women. After her presentation, she had an open fo-rum for all the ladies to come up with their problems and queries.

All the students from various B.ed col-leges were asked to register themselves first to attend the Seminar. Then the Librarian Mr. Parekh of Gujarat Uni-versity gave a formal introduction of the D.Y S P Shrutiben and welcomed her warmly. She started with how safety is important for ladies. She spoke about various ways to keep us away from any danger, she also talked

All the students arrived at college at 8:00 am and actively participated in the flag hoisting programme held by A.G High School in their playground. Mrs. Jyoti Mankad was the chief guest of the programme. The school had also organ-ized various programmes like patriotic song, dance on patriotic songs and speech by students of A.G High School. A student (Bindiya Sukumaran R.no 33) of A.G Teachers college rep-resented the college by delivering a speech on effects of Independence Day after 68 years. After the programme, the students of A.G Teachers dispersed from the playground and assembled in the assembly hall of the college. At 10:00, Patriotic song programme organized by the college was held. 10

students participated in the programme and revived the patriotic feeling among the students. Prof. I G Sheikh also con-tributed by singing a patriotic song and represented the professors’ community of the college. At 11:00 Dr. S.L Solanki announced the student union of college and also discussed the selection procedure of the student union and introduced the Gen-eral Secretary and Lady Representative. Later on, all the assistant ministers of various Dharas were announced by the Lady Representative of the union

Bindiya bagged the first prize from the cut throat inter collegiate competitions. she was falicited with a trophy & a winning certificate too. Hetu Sharma was given a participation certificate. As the students were distributed in their respective stray groups during these days the cleanliness mission was car-ried out in the respective schools. The trainees participated in the various ac-tivities done by the school which in-cluded cleaning of the playground, classroom, corridor, activity rooms and stairs. All the students and the trainee teachers showed enthusiasm in this mission. The group guides and the teachers of the school also participated in the mission by cleaning the staff room. Various officials had come to supervise this mission in the schools who were satisfied to see the interest in the stu-dents about cleanliness of their school. Back at A.G Teachers College the ad-

About AGTC A. G. Teachers College was established by the Ahmedabad Education Society in June, 1952, with the help of donation by Acharatlal Charities.
