Greetings to one and all! We hope everyone survived Thanksgiving and now it’s on to the Christmas hol-

idays! This is such a wonderful but yet hectic time of the year. So much to do and seems like not enough

time to get everything done. Christmas shopping, getting ready by putting up decorations in your home,

family activities and of course attending the chapter card parties!

There will be a card and game party this month on December 9th at Mike & Beck VanAntwerp’s home

located at 1010 N. Broadway St. in Seymour, just north of Shields Park. Exact directions at the gathering

or call if you need help.

There will be NO 3rd Wednesday Dinner Outing this month because of it being so close to Christmas and

all the different family and church activities that we all have makes it very trying for most of us to attend.

The 3WDO’s will continue in 2018 on January 17th.

The chapter again will gather for Food, FUN and Fellowship, this year at the Van Antwerp home on De-

cember 31st New Year’s Eve, for a food pitch-in and games party. Details will be at the monthly Gather-

ing on December 6th. There will be a food sign-up sheet as to what you would like to bring and share

with everyone.

This December Gathering will be the last time we will have the “Quarterly Drawing.” Starting in January

we will introduce something new called “Chapter P-O-P”, which stands for Pride of Participation which

will give everyone attending possible chances to be a winner! More details how it will work at the Gath-

ering. This is something new and totally different!

Coming up on February 9th & 10th, 2018 at the Farmstead Inn & Conference Center in Shipshewana, IN is

the Indiana District Winter Rendezvous. This year’s theme is “Play Ball”. More info and details to come

at the December Gathering. Please look at the registration form in this newsletter and think about joining

several of us for FUN and relaxation in Shipshewana!

Wednesday November 1, 2017 Chapter W gathered at the Sirloin Stockade in Columbus, Indiana. Paul Dettmer led the gathering with the Pledge to the Flag with 22 members present. Kim and Keith Hall, Assistant Chapter Directors, in the absence of Dave and Sheila Shaffer were acting Chapter Directors. Dart Liebrandt, Ride Educator, reported on several ways to winterize your bike for the winter. Give your bike a cleaning, add a fuel stabilizer, warm up engine change oil and filter. Put tools in proper places and possibly cover bike but make sure not to tie to tight to avoid mice or other creatures getting in underneath to do damage to bike over winter. Upcoming card parties: Saturday November 4 at Steve Cox's, Saturday November 18 at Dave and Sheila's starting at 6 PM. 3rd Wednesday dinner outing will be at El Nopal Mexican Restaurant on Jonathan Moore Pike in Columbus. Fellow Riders and Co-Riders,

This is our last input on the Chapter W newsletters. As you know as of January 1st the Chapter Rider Edu-cator positions go away in GWRRA.

Cold weather is finely here, BURRR!!!! Therefore I would like to refresh your memory on how windchill can make it feel a lot colder, a chart is attached. Recommend you print it and have it handy to refer to.

One thing that can sneak up on you is hypothermia. I have also attached symptoms of cold weather injuries and precautions you can take.

Be sure you are prepared and healthy enough to shovel snow, unfortunately folks can have a heart attack or other issues. So I recommend another person be home when you do shovel snow so they can keep an eye on you.
