The magic of common rail diesel engine technology is yours to enjoy with the

Scorpio Pik-Up’s new high-power mHawk engine. Its raw power and smooth

acceleration make every drive a thrill to remember. The 2.2 litre, 4-cylinder

mHawk diesel engine is what makes the Scorpio Pik-Up, the powerhouse

that it is. Acceleration is effortless. The innovative two chain drive system

and hydraulic lash adjuster cuts down the noise drastically too. It’s more fuel

efficient, low on NVH and environment-friendly and a hallmark of Mahindra’s

cutting-edge technology.

On the 4X4 variants, the Pik-Up’s Mechanical Locking Differential (MLD)

is manufactured by the world renowned Eaton Corporation and further

enhances its on-road and off-road capabilities. It provides full axle lock

automatically when needed without any manual intervention, thus

providing optimum traction.

Power-up, settle-in and select your comfortable cruise speed through the

steering-mounted cruise control. And selecting your favourite radio station,

adjusting the volume or changing audio modes can also now be done right from

the steering wheel, so your hands never have to leave the steering wheel and

you eyes can stay on the road.

Outside rear-view mirrors are adjustable from your seat at the push of a button,

and the electric windows are fitted with an anti-pinch sensor that will re-open to

prevent injury when an obstruction is detected.

Security has gone high-tech in the Scorpio, with an encrypted key recognition

system that will immediately detect when an incorrect or duplicated key is used.

There is central locking to ensure your personal safety whilst on the road, and

child locks prevent accidental opening of doors when the vehicle is on the move.

And when you get to your destination and all is dark, the follow me home headlamps

glow for several minutes after you’ve locked up to light your path to the door.

In terms of driving safety the Scorpio is well equipped to handle any peril

you may come across. When hard braking is required the Anti-lock Braking

System (ABS) will ensure the vehicle is brought to a halt safely and in the

shortest distance without compromising control. And in the event of collision

crumple zones at key points absorb most of the impact, whilst unyielding steel

bars in the doors minimize impact from the sides. Your safety is also assured

during impact with the dual airbags and the steering column is designed to

collapse to avoid causing injury.

Meticulous ‘Body Pressure Mapping’ formed the

basis for the contour designed seats, which are so

ergonomically adapted to the human form that they

positively hug you, whilst the powerful HVAC system

maintains your optimum cabin temperature and keeps

you as cool or as warm as you like. And the tiltable

steering wheel ensures a comfortable driving position.
