We have missed all of our students and their families, and we have had a wonderful first few days back at school. I am so extremely proud of all the hard work our staff have put in, to make home learning and the transition back to school in the COVID-19 environment such a success. Our teachers put an incredible amount of hours into ensuring that our students received the best home learning experience possible. Their passion and professionalism has been amazing. All of our staff have been putting in extra hours to ensure our school is as safe as possible and that our students are well cared for. A big thankyou to; Maree, Ang and Ash for their hard work with administration and organisation, to Dennis for ensuring social distancing measures are in place, and to Valda for all her extra cleaning, keeping us all safe. Thank you parents for your thoughtfulness during this time and for ensuring you are following our school guidelines for social distancing, we really appreciate this. We hope you are getting a well-earned chance to take a breath after your fabulous home learning efforts. If there are any changes to how your child is getting home of an afternoon this term, can you please inform our office, this is to ensure we know exactly where our students need to be in order to get home safely. We are collecting all items students have been using for home learning, if you have laptops at home can you please return these to the office. Students should now have brought their learning packs back to school and no longer have to carry these back and forth. We still ask that all students bring in their stationery packs daily for learning at school, and at the end of the term we will collect all stationery items and return these to our classroom supplies. We also ask that students continue to bring water bottles, with their names on them. On Monday the 27 th of July (week 2, term 3) we will be having our school photos, we know it has been a long time since we sent home order forms for school photos, if you have lost your order form envelope please call the office and let us know so we can arrange a new one for you. This semester, due to COVID-19, student academic reports will be a simplified, written report describing student progress, achievement and goals on the learning covered in Semester 1. These reports will be sent home week 1 of term 3 and will be followed by a parent teacher meeting to discuss student progress. Finally, I would like to say a big thank you to our P&C for their hard work with looking into grants this year and a big thank you to Lucy Knight for submitting the latest two grant applications for us. The P&C have been successful in securing a grant of $6939.50 for new school home readers from the Acciona Gunning Wind Farm from their Small Grants Fund and Community Benefit Fund. Kristy Grant
