2016 Term Two
Welcome back to a very busy Term Two. Staff and students would like to welcome Ms. Emily
Bell who will be replacing Ms. Kelso for the remainder of the year. Mrs. Simpson will be
going on maternity leave at the end of this week, Mrs. Eddy will replace Mrs. Simpson on
Tuesdays. We would also like to welcome Ms. Lyn Appleby who will be completing her
Practice Teaching with us.
Thank you to all the students and parents who attended the Anzac Day March. We have had
many positive comments from the public on how smart our school looked at the march and
Service. Thank you to Hamish and Lauren for laying the wreath during the service.
Last Friday all students travelled to the Cross Country at Tingha. This was the Small Schools’
Cross Country and it was all about participation and doing your best. Congratulations to
those students who have qualified for Zone to be held at Ashford on the 20th May, 2016,
students will be doing additional training for PE, but we encourage students to do some train-
ing at home, as the course is tough at Ashford. A permission note will be sent home next
week. Private transport will be needed for this event. Thank you for your support with private
transport.
Grip Leadership—tomorrow Mr. King and Mrs. Hackney will transport students to the Grip
Leadership course in Armidale. This leadership course is designed to assist senior students
with their leadership roles and also to help them in their transition to high school. Students
need to wear their winter uniform—blue jeans, green shirt and to take their school jumper
with them, as it is Armidale weather.
Names on Clothing– please make sure all your school clothing has your named marked on it,
the lost property basket is full of uniforms with no owners. It is up to students to look for their
clothing if they loose it around the school.
Zone Touch Trials– congratulations to Jarrod White and Cooper Taveira who will attend the
Zone Touch trials this Friday. Good luck boys.
Library Books– library day is each Thursday; please bring your books in each Thursday. There
are students with very overdue library books, please return these this week. Attached to this
newsletter is a library overdue notice for these books. If you cannot find the books and they
are totally lost, an account will be sent home for the replacement of the book..
School Accounts– attached to this newsletter is your Statement of Account. The accounts have any outstanding
Stationery Levies and Excursions costs. Please note that excursion fees are not due and payable now, but if parents
choose, they may make partial payments during the term.
Brisbane Excursion- all bookings have been made, our itinerary will change slightly from the original as we have had
to swap some activities around..
Good luck to Mr King as he begins his eight week secondment in Sydney next week. As soon as Ms Langdon
advises us on the Relieving Principal’s name, we let you know.
