PensionFinal Salary Pension schemes are offeredfor both Support and Curriculum staff(Local Government Pension Scheme andthe Teachers’ Pension Scheme respectively).

This is a highly desirable benefit withcontributions being made from your monthlygross salary (before you pay tax) with ahealthy contribution from the College too.

The Local Government Pension Schemeis a nationwide scheme and is consideredto be a valuable part of the pay and reward

The Teachers’ Pension Scheme is consideredto be a ‘must’ for all those involved in theteaching profession. Free Parking On-siteAll three Colleges offer staff free parkingthroughout the day, which operateson a ‘first come, first serve’ model,with Guildford and Farnham SixthForm Colleges situated withinwalking distance of the town centre.

FinanceWith finances and financial planning a key part of life, the Collegeoffers a generous pension for both Curriculum and Support Staff.Childcare vouchers are also available to all staff.

Childcare VouchersChildcare vouchers are a schemerun directly by HMRC since 1998, taxefficient way of funding childcare foryour dependents. Annual LeaveFor Business Support Staff, the Collegeoffers 25 days annual leave per year (prorata for part-time employees), which startson 1 September and ends on 31 Augustto coincide with the academic year. Inaddition, the College recognises 8 UKbank holiday dates throughout the year.After 5 completed years of service, afurther 2 days annual leave is rewardedto Business Support Staff.

For Teachers, the College offers 37 days(plus 8 bank holidays) annual leave peryear (pro rata for part-time employees),which starts on 1 September and ends on31 August to coincide with the academicyear. Teachers at Farnham College havealternative leave arrangements. Please note that holidays are onlyto be taken outside of term time.

At the discretion of the Principal, the Collegemay operate ‘Christmas Closure’ wherebyall three Colleges close from the last dayof the winter term until early January. These days do not form part of yourannual leave allowance.

Discounted Gym MembershipActivzone offers reduced membershiprates of just £23.50 per month for all staff.This includes access to all items ofequipment (including treadmills, rowingmachines, x-trainers, exercise bikes, weightmachines and dumbbells) as well asall classes, which include Zumba andSpinning amongst others. Staff PartiesThere are two College wide partiesorganised on a yearly basis. The first isthe Christmas party held at Woodies at Merrist Wood College. The second is asummer party at the end of Term 3, witheach year tending to have a differenttheme. Previous themes have includeda casino and sports day.

EmployeeEngagement AwardsAwards are open to all staff membersto nominate employees and/or teamsthat have provided an outstanding serviceand have gone above and beyond intheir roles. Winners are decided uponby a voting panel and announced atan awards ceremony.

Long Service RecognitionThe Long Service Awards recognise theachievements and commitment of staffwho have been at the College for10 years or more.

BursariesThe College can provide support for a professional or academic qualification in theform of a bursary. This is a maximum of £1000per academic year and a qualification agreement and a Professional Developmentform must be completed.

Industrial andVocational UpdatingStaff are encouraged and supported tokeep up to date in their vocational areasthrough work experience and industrialupdating. Teaching staff should be

undertaking this on an annual basis.Visits to other Colleges and organisationsto learn and share best practice is alsoencouraged as it is recognised that weare evolving and continually looking forways we can improve. Teaching staff arerequired to undertake three days updatingevery academic year.

Talent ManagementTalent management is a critical factor indeveloping successful organisations. Inour fast paced and constantly changingworld there is a need for organisations todevelop 'talent pools' of ‘great’ staff for thefuture direction. In line with the College’s5-year-plan to become an “Employer ofChoice”, HR is currently working on abespoke Talent Management Scheme- watch this space!

CPD DaysWith a comprehensive ContinuousProfessional Development (CPD) service,the College will endeavour to enhance staffcareers where possible. CPD run a numberof INSET days across the three campuses,which are beneficial to everyone.
