Rehearsal always falls on an evening of a concert week and many musicians come directly after their workday with no time for an evening meal. This is where Guild volunteers come in! We are asking for your help in providing small, simple food items that we can make available during rehearsal. Some items/sug- gestions might be: cheese & crackers, cookies, brownies, pigs in a blanket, finger sandwiches, vegetable & fruit trays, sandwich meat or some other source of protein. These items can be delivered to the Amarillo Symphony Office. Interested in helping email Terry White: [email protected] or call 806-679-6880. Instrument Express Hop on the Instrument Express and put instruments in the hands of budding musicians within AISD. We are collecting those violins, clarinets and tubas that are stashed in the depths of your attics, Your donated instrument will then be take to AISD where it will be cleaned, repaired and presented to a student musician. Your gift of an unused, forgotten instrument could change a child’s life while enhancing our community closets and storage building. On August 13th they all gathered for food & fun at the Kick Off Party and several have completed their first service project at the High Plains Food Bank. We look forward to their Presentation October 20th! Enjoy engaging presentations about the artists, composers and works of the 2018-19 season; hosted by Dr. Kimberly Hieb, Music History Professor at WTAMU. Lunch and Listening is presented on stage at the Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts! Tickets for Lunch and Listening can be purchased at AmarilloSymphony.org for $10 (box lunch is included).

The Amarillo Symphony Guild's 2017-18 gift to the Amarillo Symphony was $90,970.54. This contribu-tion would not be possible without the countless hours and talent of the Guild's board, committees and volunteers. This group of women along with the support of the Amarillo Symphony office staff are dedicated to make sure all the Guild projects are successful, educational and profitable.

Madeleine is daughter of The Honorable Ginger Nelson and Mr. Kevin Nelson. She will be presented as a Duchess to the Austin Royal Court.

Madeleine is currently a sophomore at Baylor University in the University Scholars program with majors in English and theater. She volunteers at Highland Baptist Church and is a member of the Chi Omega sorority.

She was a graduate of Amarillo High School in 2017 and was presented as a Belle at the Amarillo Symphony Ball in 2017.

Madeleine Ann Nelson "The Blue Sapphire of Amarillo" represented the Amarillo Symphony Guild at the 63rd annual Jewel Ball .
