Proof of Virginia Beach residency includes a valid Virginia driver’s license with the resident’s primary Virginia Beach address. Virginia Beach residents without a local driver’s license must produce a utility bill, rent receipt or check draft (with name on documentation matching picture I.D.) Residential vehicles are defined as those that are privately owned, non-commercial automobiles, pickup trucks, station wagons, and passenger and mini vans. Examples of non-residential vehicles are vehicles with ladder racks, commercial signage, work equipment, trailers longer than ten feet, and cargo or panel vans. No trailers longer than ten feet allowed at landfill. No Dump Trailers except for trailers with pure yard debris with no limbs larger than 6" or no longer that 24", with pure concrete with no rebar or metal wire or with pure dirt. Electronic Recycling

The Land�ll and Resource Recovery Center receives oyster shells for use by the non-pro�t group, Lynnhaven River Now. Lynnhaven River Now is actively engaged in restoring and enhancing oyster habitat. You can bring your oyster and clam shells to the facility. Your shells will be combined with those collected from participating restaurants to support oyster reef construction.

Metal is accepted at the Household Hazardous Waste Facility. Metals are shipped o� site to be recycled.

Woody yard debris is recycled into mulch used for City landscape projects. Woody waste, up to six inches in diameter, may be disposed of at this facility. No bagged materials please.

Please only use the land�ll for items that cannot be discarded at the Resource Recovery Center or Recycling Drop-O�. City Land�ll Sta� are available to help answer any questions about what items can be recycled.

For the safety of residents, solid waste is disposed of in containers provided in the Convenience Center.

No plastic bags.• Cartons: food and beverage cartons• Glass Bottles & Jars: clear, green and brown. Remove and discard lids.• Aluminum, Steel and Tin: food and beverage cans. Clean aluminum foil.

Up to four automobile or light truck tires from your primary residence with or without rims can be disposed of free of charge.

Household Hazardous Waste FacilityUp to �ve gallons of liquids or up to 75 pounds of dry materials can be accepted. Items should not be co-mingled with other waste.

Convenience Center

Items that can be placed in your blue carts for curbside pick-up are accepted at the Recycling Drop-O� Center. Please breakdown all card-board boxes before placing them in the bins. All containers must be emptied. No plastic bags are allowed in the bins.
