Guideline For Project Report Preparation
1. Number of Project copies.
The students have to submit 5 copies which are as follows
i. One copy to the organization in which the study is
done
ii. One copy to Corporate Guide
iii. One copy to Faculty Guide
iv. Two copies to the PGP office.
2. Size of the project.
The size of the project report should not exceed 90 pages
of typed matter reckoned from the first page of chapter 1
to the last page of the last chapter. (It includes graphs and
charts)
3. Arrangement of Contents of Project Report
The sequence in which the report material is to be arranged
and bound should be as follow:
a) Inner Page with Title, Students name & registration
number, Names of Corporate & Faculty Guides, Year etc.
b) Certificate from the Corporate Guide
c) Certificate from the Faculty Guided) Declaration by the student
e) Acknowledgement
f) Table of Contents
List of Figures
List of Table
g) Executive Summary

h) Introduction
i) Review of Literature
j) Research Methodology
k) Result/analysis of the work done by the student
l) Conclusion and recommendation
m)Bibliography
n) Annexure (Questionnaire, Data, List of Abbreviations, etc.)
4. Page Dimension and Margin
The report print out should be taken on a standard A4
sheet, with the below specification of the margin.
i. Left margin : 1.4 inches (3.5 cm)ii. Right Margin : 0.8 inches (2.0 cm)
iii. Top Margin : 1.0 inches (2.5 cm)
iv. Bottom margin : 1.0 inches (2.5 cm)
5. Manuscript Preparation :
5.1 Cover Page & Title Page : A specimen copy is attached.
Please refer Annexure 1.
5.2 Certificates : The certificate should be in double line spacing
using Font Style Bookman Old Style, with Font Size 12.
This includes students declaration also.
5.3 Acknowledgement : The acknowledgement should be brief
and should not exceed more than one page when typed with
double spacing. Font Style Bookman Old Style, with Font
Size 12.
5.4 Table of contents : The table of contents should list all
materials following it as well as any material which precedes

it. The title page, Certificates and acknowledgement should
be numbered in lower case Roman letters and are to be
accounted for them. Other pages are to be numbered in
numerically. There should be one and half line spacing
between items in the content. The sample also gives the
guidelines of chapter contents. Sample Annexure II.
5.4.1 List of Table : The list should use exactly the same
captions as they appear above the tables in the text.
One and a half spacing should be adopted for typing
the matter under this head.
5.4.2 List of Figures - The list should use exactly the same
captions as they appear below the figures in the text.
One and a half spacing should be adopted for typing
the matter under this head.
5.5 Executive Summary / Abstract : The abstract should be
essay type of narration not exceeding 600 words, outlining
the problem, the methodology used for tackling it and
summary of findings. It should be typed in one and half line
spacing using Font Style Bookman Old Style, with Font
Size 12.
5.6 Introduction : It comprises the theoretical aspects about
the topic (Definition, types, why and how). It should be
typed in one and half line spacing using Font Style
Bookman Old Style, with Font Size 12.
5.7 Review of literature : A literature review is a critical and in
depth evaluation of previous research. It is a summary and
synopsis of a particular area of research, allowing anybody
reading the paper to establish why you are pursuing this
particular research program. A good literature review

expands upon the reasons behind selecting a particular
research question. It should be typed in one and half line
spacing using Font Style Bookman Old Style, with Font
Size 12.
5.8 Research Methodology : It should contain the following
details, with one and half line spacing.
5.8.1 Research Problem
5.8.2 Hypothesis
5.8.3 Data Source ( Primary or Secondary)
5.8.4 Sample Design ( Population, Sampling frame,
Sampling Method, Sample size)
5.8.5 Frame Work of Analysis (It states the type of
questionnaire prepared and the tools sued to analysis
the problem statement)
5.9 Analysis & Result : This section contains graphs and other
tools used to find the solution for the problem, and its
inferences. It should be typed in one and half line spacing
using Font Style Bookman Old Style, with Font Size 12.
5.10 Recommendation & Conclusion : In this section you should
suggest some solution to the problem you have analysed
using statistical tools, and conclude. It should be typed in
one and half line spacing using Font Style Bookman Old
Style, with Font Size 12.
5.11 Bibliography : It should be typed in one and half linespacing using Font Style Bookman Old Style, with Font
