Mitchell, the tallest mountain east of the Mississippi. Serendipity is just down the road from the Black Mountain Camp Ground, where some of the areas most challenging hiking trails start. You can also hike to the top of Mount Mitchell and Mount Mitchell State Park. There is plenty to do without having to leave the area, but flat and well maintained roads provide easy access to all that the Blue Ridge Parkway and Western North Carolina has to offer.
