GTEP Frequently Asked Questions
• How much is tuition? $245 per credit hour.
• Is financial aid available? Yes. Apply at least 8 weeks prior to the beginning of the session in which you wish to receive financial aid . You must be degree seeking to be eligible for financial aid.
• How long does it take to complete the program? On average, students complete their degree in a year and a half. Students have 4 years to complete their degree, or 5 years for the M.S. Initial Certification Plan.
• How many credits are required to complete the degree? A minimum of 36 semester hours.
• How many credits can be transferred into the program? Six graduate credits from a regionally accredited college or university. The credits to be transferred must be less than 5 years old, with a grade of B or better. Some majors may require matching courses for transfer.
• When do classes meet? Saturdays during the Fall and Winter Terms and weekday evenings during the Summer Term.
• Is the GRE required? Only for Florida M.S. Educational leadership majors who do not have a 3.0 in the last 60 hours of their undergraduate degree. See catalog for details and additional admission requirements for Educational Leadership majors.
• When can I register? Registration period is May 11 until June 8.
• Can I make an appointment to speak with an academic advisor? Yes. If all advisors are assisting other students at the time you call , you may schedule an appointment for a callback at a specified time and date.
• When is the last day to drop/add courses? You may drop/add a course prior to the second class meeting. To add a course, you must have the permission of the site administrator and the professor of the course you wish to add.
• Do I have to formally apply to the program? Yes. All students must submit a Graduate Admission Application , which can be found in the back of the GTEP catalog . This is required whether you are a degree-seeking or a non-degree-seeking student. There is a $50 non-refundable application fee.
