The Vox Centre Construction Retail The trainees get to construct the entire VOX facility under the supervision of trained mastersand get a feel of actual work environment. They also perform day to day maintenance tasks within the school. The trainees get to set up and manage a retail store that sells goods/raw materials required for training in other facilities. This gives a first hand experience in dealing with various kinds of customers andmanaging different kinds of retail FMCG, Grocery, Tools and equipment, Stationary, etc.The trainees run and maintain the VOX restaurant withinthe facility that sells the food prepared by the Catering group, allowing the trainees to work in a live environment, dealing with customer demands. The Restaurant opens for allchildren and staff offering healthy & nutritious food. • India has one of theworld s most youthful population . There are310 millionpeople aged15 25 yearsbut only5% of them have any TVET qualifications

Relevance in INDIA The Education System The number India needs to equip who join its labor force every year with higher levels of education and skills to be able to access better-paying jobs, and to benefit from the demographic dividend 12 Million 14. Why do India's children drop out of school? -Non-availability of schooling facilitiesaccount for10 - 15%of India's out-of-school children.- A much larger percentage of children and/or their parents are simply"not interested". - A large percentage of childrenstay at hometo participate in the basic tasks of the household economy.-Failure to pass examinationsis one of the reasons for discontinuance of education. 15. FOR CHILDREN The VoX model offers not only education in terms of language, literacy and numeracy but also skills training that will open up the job market for them.FOR PARENTSIt is an opportunity to give ability to their children at a nominal fee, which will help them emerge as a stronger working arm of the family. It gets them the social appreciation and also motivates other students to take up vocational training. FOR THE COMMUNITY It readies a pool of trained, certified and EXPERIENCED plumbers, electricians, masons, carpenters, caterers, hair & beauty therapists, etcmanpower which is available locally .FOR ADULT LEARNERS The VoX centre can offer adult literacy program along with skills training in schools in night shifts, which will be their first step to be part of an organised rust collar workforce.Relevance in INDIA VOX in INDIA 16.
