What is NCF ?
• NCF is the education policy of a country.
• NCF 2005 is published by NCERT
• ‘Learning Without Burden’
Main Features of the NCF 2005

• So NCF emphasises that learning should not be confined to textbooks alone.
• Teaching learning should be embedded in the child’s life experiences.
• For this learning should be shifted from rote method.
• School system should be flexible,allowing innovation and promoting creativity among children.
NCF Aims of Education
Based on the Constitution’s vision of India.
• NCF-2005 seeking guidance from the
constitutional vision of India as a secular,
egalitarian and pluralistic society..
• These include independence of thought and action,
• sensitivity to others’ well-being and feelings,
• learning to respond to new situations in a flexible and creative manner,
• predisposition for participation in democratic processes,
• the ability to work towards and contribute to economic processes and social change.

• The curriculum design reflects the commitment to universal Elementary Education (UEE)

Overall development of the child should be our aim.
• So quality in education includes concern for quality of life in all its dimensions.
• Values like peace, protection of environment and predisposition towards social changes must be the core components.
