Basically,thedataexchangethroughGSM-ControlcanbeinitiatedbothfromGSMandMSWindowsenvironments:

FromGSMenvironment-bysend-ingSMSmessagetoGSM-Control,wherethereceivedmessageischeckedandprocessedaccordingtheGSM-Controlcurrentconfigu-ration.ThereceivedSMSmes-sagecancontainsomedatatobetransferredviaDDE,OPC,SQLorLmxProxyfromGSM-ControltootherMSWindowsapplications(e.g.toPCoperatorinterfaceap-plicationsorfielddevicesthroughappropriatecommunicationservers)ordatabases.ThisSMSmessagereceivedcanhavethecorrespondingresponsemessageconfigured(alsopossiblycontain-ingdatavaluesobtainedbyviaDDE,OPC,SQLorLmxProxy)-inthiscaseGSM-ControlwillrespondwithSMSmessagetothesender.

2. FromMSWindowsenvironment-whensomealarmoreventoccursinMSWindowsapplication(e.g.inPCoperatorinterfaceapplicationordirectlyinthefielddevice)andthecorrespondingalarmoreventconditionisspecifiedinGSM-Con-

trol.InthiscaseGSM-Controlwillsendthecorrespondinglyconfig-uredSMSmessage(possiblycon-tainingalsosomedataobtainedviaDDE,OPCorSQL)toremoteGSMoperatorordevicelinkedtothisalarmoreventcondition.ThereceiverofsuchSMSmessagecanrespondtoGSM-Control-forexample,sendsomeacknowl-edgmentSMSmessagepossiblycontainingsomedatafordeliveryviaDDE,OPC,SQLorLmxProxy.

Moreover,itispossibletosend(manu-allyorautomaticallythroughDDE,OPCorLmxProxy)anypre-configuredtextmessage(“standard1-waymessages”)fromGSM-ControltoremoteGSMoperatorordevice.TheSMSmessagesalsocanbereceivedfromany(notconfigured)phonenumber(socalled“ANYUSER”feature)andcorrespond-inglyrepliedwithinformationdepend-ingoncontentsofreceivedmessage.

TheGSM-ControlcanbeusedonInter-net-itispossibletosendSMSmes-sagesbye-mailsfromGSM-ControltoGSMnetworkandtoreceiveSMSmes-sagesase-mailsfromGSMnetwork.InthiscaseGSM-ControlmayrunwithoutGSM-modemconnected-modemisreplacedbye-mailconnection.
