LINAC – 800 ( first stage of the DELSY project, not budgetary facility)LINAC-800 parameters:• energy – 800 MeV• average current – 50 mA
Applications of LINAC-800:• Free Electron Lasers• Material modification• Injector of Synchrotron Centre
Free Electron Lasers at LINAC-800 (Bld.118)
Dubna Synchrotron Centre with the JINR participation is the most promising way of synchrotron investigations and applications in the future.

Fundamental Investigations:• DUBTO - Resonant behaviour of the both the pp- and nn+ systems, produced in 4He interaction.• MUON – Investigation of the muon properties and the muon interactions with matter.• FAMILON - The study of the two-particle muon decay on an electron and golston's massless boson.• -CATALISIS- Measurements of muon catalyzed fusion cycling rate temperature dependence in a binary mixture D/T in the temperature range 40-300 K.

Applied investigations:
• Cancer therapy; (~100 patients per year)
• SAD- Subcritical Assembly Driven by Proton Accelerator

Two ways:• restoration of existed oncology facilities (~ 750 k$, ≤ 12 months)• creation of a new facility (synchrotron) specialized for hadron therapy
(~10 M$ with existed buildings, oncology beams and cabins, ~5 years )
The main task: restoration of hadron oncology facilities at JINR as soon as possible

IREN – Intense REsonance Neutron source (facility is under construction at FLNP)
IREN consists:• powerful (10KW) electron linac LUE-200• plutonium subcritical multiplied target
IREN project had been approved by JINR Scientific Council in June 1994
The first budget of the project was 3.7M$
It was planned to complete the project up to 1998.

It was produced and delivered to JINR main HT elements of the linac LUE-200:
• equipment for two RF modulators;
• two accelerating tubes with
accelerating rate 30 MeV/m;
• SLAC klystron 5045;
• SLED system and RF feeder;
• the vacuum system;
• the grid;
• diagnostic systems.
Electron gun testing
In addition:
• RF modulator was assembled;
• RF, vacuum systems were tested;
• the accelerator grid was precisely mounted ;
• the pulsed electron source was tested and mounted on the grid;
The metallic plutonium fuel for multiplying target was manufactured at “Mayak” and delivered to JINR in Dec. 2004

Section grids of LUE-200
MoU between Kurchatov Institute and JINR was signed in February, 2005. KI is ready:• contribute to the IREN project (~100k$/year);• to apply jointly with JINR to the Russian Government for a special grant (~1M$)
The budget of the IREN project
1994 - 3.7M$2005 ≥ 4.5 M$ due to:• inflation of US dollar• increasing of material cost • increasing of manpower cost
It had been invested now ~ 2.25 M$ including ~ 950k$ in 2000-2004
The rate of project financing ~ 300 k$/yearThe estimated time for startup the facility: 2012
Cooperation with KI is the most promising way for completion of IREN in 2008
