Growth of Central Business Districts

Business and property analysts see the continuing growth of Central Business Districts (CBDs) in

Metro Manila and emerging centers in key cities up to 2015, amid the growth of the Philippine

economy, and the bullish outlook on foreign and domestic investments. The CBD is the commercialand focal point of a city, where there is large concentration of retail and office buildings, mostly

hosting multinationals; malls, high-end stores, tourism and cultural centers, cinemas, main railway

and bus stations.

Makati City's resources are in the financial district-CBD, with large businesses such as banks,

multinationals, hotels, malls, telecom companies, call centers, and hospitals. The trade center of

Filipino-Foreign businessmen and the CBD prior to the development of the Makati CBD was

Binondo District in Manila. Ortigas Center in Pasig City is Metro Manila's second most important

financial district-CBD after Makati.

Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City is the next big business district in Metro Manila. Development

and improvement in the once military base continue nearly 20 years its conversion into a

commercial area in the 1990s. The Quezon City CBD, called Triangle Park to promote accessibility of

even inner-most properties.

Its proximity to Manila and Makati City makes Filinvest City, a 244-hectare "satellite city" south of

Metro Manila, an ideal CBD similar to Ayala Avenue and Bonifacio Global City. It is undergoing

development as future home of major corporations, business process outsourcing firms, hotels and

malls. Emerging business centers are Eastwood City, Bay City, Madrigal Business Park, Araneta

Cyberpark, Greenhills Redevelopment, Rockwell; Complex, EDSA Central, Robinsons Cyberpark,Century City, McKinley Hill, Newport City, Aseana IT Business Park, and Asiaworld City.

We wish Republic of the Philippines H.E. President Benigno S. Aquino III and Vice President

Jejomar C. Binay, and other Officers all the best and success as they promote policies and programs

to provide impetus to the growth of business centers in the Philippines. CONGRATULATIONS AND
