Spring Fling Saturday, April 4thThe Children’s Committee is coordinating the upcoming Spring Fling for April 4th and we are in need of your help. We are expect-ing 300-400 people at this event and we need volunteers to help out that day. If you are interested, please contact Becky Crouch (803-318-7656).

During the event, we are also planning to have cake walks. The cakes should not require refrigeration and can be store bought. We would need the cakes by April 3. Community Revival March 23rd @ 7:00pmInvite a friend that will benefit from hearing the Gospel to a one-night revival at 1st Baptist Chester. Dr. Johnny Hunt will be the guest speaker. Dr. Hunt is work-ing with the North American Mission Board Evangelism team and will be challenging local pastors earlier in the day with the "Who's Your One" evangelism strategy.

DNOW With Immanuel Baptist March 13th – 15thPlease join us in prayer as the HBC SPARK Students join Immanuel Baptist and other churches for a DNOW weekend. This week will include some intense discipleship times paired along with a “feed the community” mission project. Pray that God would move and change hearts during this weekend.

STU-SERVE April 6th – 10thStu-Serve is our springtime local mission opportunity. This is for STUDENTS AND ADULTS. We will serve Monday through Friday from 4 – 8 pm. Projects including building, cleaning, and yard work will start each day at 4 pm and finish at 8 pm. Dinner will be provided each day between 5:30 and 6 pm. by David MathisTo grow in Christ, we don’t set out to grow; we set out to taste his goodness. “Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation — if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good” (1 Peter 2:2–3). Just as God alone is the giver of growth for individuals and his kingdom, so Christ alone is the focal point for both individuals and his church. How does the whole body grow? By “holding fast to the Head, from whom the whole body, nourished and knit together through its joints and ligaments, grows with a growth that is from God” (Colossians 2:19). Jesus is the Head of the church (Colossians 1:18); she only grows as she holds fast to him (see also Ephesians 4:15–16). ...When all is said and done, our hope is not to be a skilled Bible-reader, practiced pray-er, faithful churchman, or visibly mature Christian, but to be the one who “understands and knows me, that I am the Lord” (Jeremiah 9:24). And so our heartbeat in the habits we develop for hearing every word, speaking every prayer, and participating in every act of fellowship is Hosea 6:3: “Let us know; let us press on to know the Lord.” Knowing and enjoying Jesus is the final end of hearing his voice, having his ear, and belonging to his body. God’s means of grace, and their many good expressions, will serve to make us more like him, but only as our focus returns continually to Christ himself, not our own Christlikeness. It is in “behold-ing the glory of the Lord” that we “are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another” (2 Corinthians 3:18). So, “train yourself for godliness; [it] is of value in every way” (1 Timothy 4:7–8). Amen. May you ever improve in Christ. And remem-ber that your godliness is never the end. Growth is not the goal. Spiritual growth is a marvelous effect of spiritual discipline, but it is only an effect. The heart in every habit serves this one great end: knowing and enjoying Jesus. WOW Meals Wednesday, March 11 TacosLook Up Lodge August 11th – 14thRising 3nd-5th graders will be traveling to Look Up Lodge in Travelers Rest, SC Aug. 11th – 14th. The camp is designed to help students grow deeper in their walk with God, closer to one another, and widen their impact for Christ. They will be able to experience the outdoors, a giant swing, and have non-stop fun with each other while growing closer to God. The price is $240 per student. $50 is due February 1st. Family Game Day March 21st Looking for some fun fellowship with other families? Come to HBC on Saturday, March 21st from 12:00-2:30.
