COMMUNITY

JENNY CALDERWOOD KIDZCAN RUN WALK

The Run for Josh was renamed and dedicated to Jenny Calderwood this year. The event was held on Africa Day with the cycle, run or walk taking place throughout Gosho Park. All three of the Peterhouse Group of Schools participated as well as Ruzawi School, Lendy Park and a large number of supporters from the Marondera Community. It was a wonderful day and a fitting tribute to someone who loved the Peterhouse Group so much. Just over $15,000 was raised for the Kidzcan Cancer Ward.

15th to 17th July - Conservation and the Environment The Peterhouse Festival was, once again, a resounding success. We were blessed with a beautiful day with the highlight being the Organ Re-cital in the Chapel by Prince Nyatanga. The festival also featured a Musi-cal Soire at Peterhouse Girls School, the Three Choirs Festival with Arundel School in the Chapel and the Watershed Choir in the quad. The day also saw many market stalls, an equestrian demonstration, the Prince Edward Jazz Band, the St Johns Pipe Band, an Inter-House Mas-terchef competition, food courts, displays, Rockafella, Skydivers, the bikers from Harare and ended with the popular local band Evicted.

BIENNIAL FESTIVAL

The whole top floor of Founders House has been gutted to make way for newly built brick studies with the current residents spending the term in the Bunk House. Every boys House has now been fitted with Solar Water Heating for showers which has been a great improvement on the current system. Ditches have been dug to accommodate piping for the distribution of red water to Houses and staff gardens and the Nyakambiri pipeline to ensure water to our estate and fields. A new fibre optic telephone link, a new switchboard and extra lines will lead to an improved telephone system. The final section of fencing has been finished to enclose the South and West of the school to create a Game Park and Conservation area.
