E-BAJA is an electric engine driven BAJA eventorganizedbySAE-INDIA.Thiswasanewinitiativeintroduced in 2014 on the counsel of formerPresidentof India,APJAbdulKalam inorder topromote greener mobility. All entries in thiscategory run on rechargeable lithium ionbatteries.Teamsof studentsneed todesignandbuild electric powered ATV that has tractionmotorof48Vwith fullyautomatic transmissionhaving10.83GearRatiosand160Ahofbatterypack.Students from Automobile and MechanicalEngineering Department participated in “BAJASAE-INDIA2019”adynamiceventofATVs.TheySecured 15th rankNationalwise and 3rd rank rank in state, in the main event at NATRIP,Pithampur, Indore. The special feature of theparticipation was that our was the only teamwhichwasselectedfromtheaffiliateduniversityi.e.GujaratTechnologicalUniversity.Inordertotrain and guide the students for promotinginnovation and technical capabilities Ourinstitute has setup club named “SAE CollegiateClub”underguidanceoffacultyadvisor.Studentsareencouragedtoenhancetheirvehicledesigningskill and other practical aspects by assemblingvehicleincollegepremisesitself.
