Commanders Circle

Electoral votes If there were to be a tie in the electoral college vote. The

Congress may determine the Time of choosing the Electors

In the Constitution it states that Whomever came in 2nd place would be the vice president.

This was overall not the best idea due to the fact. If the vice president want to be the president like he hope. Easily he could find way to kill the president so later he would be appointed.

Later, it was superseded by the 12th amendment

Example of TieO In 1800, as previously noted, the

Democratic-Republican Electors gave both Thomas Jefferson and Aaron Burr and equal number of electoral votes. The tie, settled in Jefferson's favor by the House of Representatives in accordance with the original design of the Electoral College system, prompted the 12th Amendment which effectively prevented this sort of thing from ever happening again.
