PETER PAN COLAR&

VARIATIONS

Page 2: Group 2 wk 10 pm gc

Process

1. Traced the Production pattern of a peter pan collar.

2. In variation we want to make collar- stand from back therefore we increased the collar width till 14 cm (increased 6.5 cm from original seam), and increased 7.5 from nape-point towards HSP.

3. We did another variation from front, where we increase 1.5 cm in peter pan collar, here we increase the collar from one side till 9 cm and 7.5 cm towards HSP from seam and from other side increase 4.3 cm and 9 cm towards HSP to play with the size of collar

4. Traced our collars and full bodice (Front Bodice and Back Bodice) in muslin cloth.

5. Stitched all four placket (Simple Placket, Box Placket, Inverted Box Placket, concealed Placked), stitched the darts in plackets and back bodice and attached front and back bodice and with Peter-Pan collar and other two variations.

Observation

While making collar we had to make it equal to the bodice neckline circumference so that it can be stitched properly.

As we stitched the first variation of collar which has been increased from back-nape point, the fall of collar was curvy from back, and front fall of collar was as it is in Peter-pan collar since we did not give any variation from front.

In second variation we increased the collar from front and increased both side with different measurement. The collar which was increased to 9 cm it lifted up , crimped slightly and the other side of collar which was increased 4.3 cm falls more downwards straight, and here also it gives curvy collar from back side

Learning's

1. While making variation in collars we learn that we have to make collar neckline equal to bodice neckline

2. Extending collar from back makes collar more wide and gives wavy fall.

3. Extension from front neckline with different measurement gives the uneven look to collar and even it will give problem and crimped while stitching.

Future Usage

1. Learn how to stitch the collar2. We learnt from mistakes (choosing the wrong fabric, drew production patterns of the collar with wrong measurement)3. Learnt from the view others how to rectify mistakes.4. Self confidence on stitching the garment. 5. Learn that if we want the crimped and waves in back collar we have to make our collar more wide from nape point.6. If we increase the measurement of front collar in different proportion both side collar will fall in different way, the more the increment the collar will crimped un lifted upwards
