What do we need?

• Tomorrow we will be going grocery shopping at Fry’s Foods. Before we go, we need to think about what we need to buy so we can cook spaghetti on Friday.

Is Anything on Sale?

• Now that we have made a list of all the items we need to buy to make spaghetti , we need to think about how much money we are going to spend.

• To know how much money we will need, we need to first look at our list of items and see if we can find any of those items on sale in the Fry’s Grocery Ad.

What is an Ad and Where do I Find It?

• An ad is a short word used for the BIG word advertisement. An ad is something that you see. It has pictures and words that try to make people want to come to that store, buy that item or tell you about that item.

• The grocery ad for Fry’s Foods is found in either your mail or newspaper on Wednesday. Another place you can find the ad is at the grocery store . You can also find the Fry’s ad online at: http://services.frysfood.com/StoreLocator/StoreLocatorWeeklyAdSearch.aspx

Online Grocery AdNow that we have the webpage for Fry’s Food on the Smartboard, we need to type in our zip code so we see the grocery ad for the location that is close to school . Our zip code is 85023.

Online Grocery AdNow that we have the stores listed that are close to us, we need to find the store that is located on Thunderbird that is closest to us. I have circled it for us! Next we need to click on “view weekly ad.”

Now for the Deals!!!

Now we need to look at each page of our ad and see if there are any items on sale from our list.

• Each of you has a paper ad in front of you that I picked up at Fry’s last night. Using the black marker , please look through your ad and circle any items that you find that are on our grocery shopping list.

Coupons - Good or Bad?

• We always use coupons when we go grocery shopping for the class. From what we have learned about using coupons , do coupons save us money or do they make us pay more money ?
