Grímur kokkur is a family business and a leader in the production of ready-made seafood dishes and vegetable dishesThe goal of Grimur Kokkur is to make only high quality foods made from high quality raw

material that is both well-balanced and delicious and easy to serve.

Because we have access to the freshest fish in the world our main emphasis is on ready-made

fish dishes that are made from select raw material. We also make vegetable dishes and we

recently began cooperating with the author of the book-series "Wholesome dishes for the

family" (Heilsuréttir fjölskyldunnar). We produce and sell a number of dishes presented in this

brochure based on these recipes.

We do not use MSG or sugar in our food products. Our foods are on supply in all the largest

grocery stores and at the fish counters in supermarkets. Large and small canteens can order

and get these quality products delivered.

Fish ballsThe fish balls from Grimur Kokkur are savoury and tasty and many customers have said that they remind them of their mother’s old recipe.

This is a traditional Icelandic dish that is however continually a favourite with the people of Iceland. Try our fantastic fish balls and you will not be disappointed.

The fish balls are individually quick frozen in 5 kilo boxes. They are fully cooked and you only need to re-heat them in an oven or a pan. They are available as 40 gramme or 55 gramme fish balls.

Grimur Kokkur is a small family company with a big dream. The family has been involved in fishing activities through generations.

We are located near the most bountiful fishing grounds in Iceland and therefore our main emphasis is focused on fish dishes and in recent years we have also gotten involved in vegetable foods and dishes because of the growing popularity of such products.

We wish to grow and thrive and at the same time to put forth our own effort in order to increase the consumption of healthy and nutritious food that can be easily served. We place a heavy emphasis on the salubrious quality of our products and on product development. We are concerned about health and we realize the importance of a balan-ced diet and are well aware of our part in getting the nation, especially the young people, to eat more fish. We believe that seafood is especially important for the health. Therefore all our products are free from MSG and also without preservatives. We quick chill or quick freeze our products immediately after they are fully cooked and therefore we do not need to use preservatives in order to obtain shelf life quality.

We have had ongoing cooperation with Matís ltd. – Iceland Food and Biotech R&D –involving some large projects where our emphasis is to make our fish products still more wholesome. Recently we completed a large project with Matís ltd. that aims at providing additional Omega and vitamin D in the fish without the consumer finding any taste differences. This is a very interesting project and the results are absolutely fantastic. We are going to present them very soon and at the same time present new products with added Omega and vitamin D.

It is my sincere wish that we may have a pleasant relationship in the future.

In order to be allowed to produce foods under the brand name Heilsuréttir fjölskyldunnar the foods need to pass the requirements for health quality, flavour tests and nutritional value. The dishes are produced according to recipes that are picked from the acclaimed and best selling bookseries by Heilsuréttir fjölskyldunnar that have been sold in more than 17 thousand copies.

The dishes are made of first class raw material in order to meet the requirements for pure and nutritious food for the whole family.

Healthy dishes for the family

A wonderful vegetable lasagne. This appetizing dish is full of wholesome vegetables, including sweet potatoes, carrots, onion and garlic.

There are no excipients in the vegetable lasagne and we do not use unbleached wheat in the vegetable lasagne bread wrappers. In stead we use wholemeal. This dish also has coconut milk in it.

The vegetable lasagne gives you a sublime taste in the mouth and it is light on the stomach and you don’t need to have a bad conscience after a meal. Heilsuréttir fjölskyldunnar recommend serving your own favourite fresh salad as side dish. The Vegetable lasagne is delivered frozen in 3 kilo units.

These Indian vegetable cakes are wonderfully good and easy on the stomach. We recommend especially that you serve date puree and yogurt sauce as a side dish with the Indian vegetable cakes. It is also a good idea to serve Naan bread with this dish.

You can find a recipe for the date puree and the yogurt sauce in the book Nýir Heilsuréttir fjölskyldunnar. You can also order from us both date puree and yogurt sauce to go with the Indian vegetable cakes. We use pure Greek yogurt for the yogurt sauce. It is without sugar and spiced with caraway. The date puree is made of dates ad does not contain added sugar or other additives.

The Indian vegetable cakes are delivered frozen in 5 kilo units and the date puree and the yogurt sauce is delivered in the quantity that goes with that unit. What wonder this combination of the Indian vegetable cakes, date puree and the yogurt sauce is.
