Greetings OMGC community,

First Sunday of Advent November 28, 2021 Greetings OMGC community, November has been a time for much needed break as we have been working so hard the first quarter of school. Students in grades 6-8 had their first field trip in almost 2 years to Grand Park in DTLA to experience the Dia de los Muertos art installations and cultural displays. While they were there, they were able to make a visit to the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels as well for some quiet reflection. Congratulations to our two fall sports teams completing their seasons, Cross Country and Girls’ Volleyball. We thank all the coaches and parents who assisted in getting our teams back to competing again. Our cross country team competed in 3 meets and 1 fun run over the course of the past few months. The girls’ volleyball team played in 4 highly competitive matches against other local Catholic schools in a shortened and modified schedule, as not all Catholic schools have fielded teams to compete. For acts of service and charity, our student leadership members helped to organize our canned food drive for the St. Vincent de Paul ministry. Through the month of November all our dolphins collected non-perishable canned and dry goods for those in need. Finally, to kick off our Thanksgiving vacation, our Kindergarten and 3rd grade presented A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving in the St. Augustine Center. Parents were welcomed to join the audience of students from grades TK - 4 in our annual performance. Our music teacher, Michele Ryan, led the students in a closing Thanksgiving song of what they were thankful for. We thank our 3rd grade teacher, Ms. Loynes, and theatre teacher, Ms. Wolff, for their dedication, hard work, and preparation. We are thankful for the love and support we receive from the parish and community in helping to raise and educate the faith-filled, responsible citizens of our future. Thank you! Kevin Komenkul, M. Ed. Principal

¡Gracias! Kevin Komenkul, M. Ed. Principal
