What is Greenhouse Effect?

• Certain Greenhouse gases trap the sun’s heat and keep the Earth warm.

• As there is a mighty increase in the level of these gases they trap more heat than required.

• This has increased the Earth’s temperature leading to GLOBAL WARMING!!!

Greenhouse Gases

• Water Vapor• Carbon Dioxide• Carbon Monoxide• Nitrous Oxide• Methane

Sources of Greenhouse Gases

• Power Plants• Residential Buildings• Road Transport• Deforestation• Energy Industry Processes• Chemical and Petrochemical Industries• Cement, ceramic and glass production• Livestock• Iron and Steel Manufacture

Why are Greenhouse Gases important?

Greenhouse gases are important as they• Keep the Earth’s surface warm• They enable the Earth to sustain life

Why it is dangerous?• It leads to Global Warming• It leads to many endangered species• It leads to Climate change

What is a Greenhouse?

A greenhouse (also called a glasshouse) is a building complex in which plants are grown.  It heats up because incoming visible sunshine is absorbed inside the structure. Air warmed by the heat from warmed interior surfaces is retained in the building by the roof and wall.

Global Warming

• Increase in the average temperatures of the Earth

• Increase in the temperature of the seas and oceans

• It is a vital issue

Effects of Global Warming

• Climate Change• Melting of glaciers• Flooding in coastal areas• Increase in sea level• Changes in wildlife adaptations and may

cause extinction of animals• Heavy drought • Spread of diseases

Countries Effected by Global Warming

• Bangladesh • Sudan• Siberia• Australia• Myanmar• Vietnam• Cambodia• Dominican Republic• Philippines and China

How to control Global Warming?

• Change a light• Drive less• Recycle more• Check your tires regularly• Use less hot air• Avoid products with lot of packaging• Adjust your Thermostat• Plant a tree• Spread Awareness
